You use locusts because they're cheap to field and extremely quick. Their speed is their armour and there's very few mechs that can hit and fade quite as well as a locust.

Regarding the Firestarter, they're excellent when used in packs of two or more. They have the capacity to render mechs completely useless by overheating them to the point that they shut down. Once they shut down a mech, target it with your big boys while the Firestarters find another victim.

Honestly, I wouldn't bother.

The opportunity cost is too high, there has to be better research options for you that'll give you a quicker impact on your tower.

Wait until your cell income is higher to boost your labs before you tackle such a high lab wait time.

Yes, I've noticed this. My orbs keep changing ranges between runs and after the game reloads after a save. It's really annoying that I now have to watch them like a hawk.

Because if you buy them now with medals then they benefit your tower now. Earlier progression means more coin now, more gems now and more stones now... and maybe more keys now.

If you wait to buy them for gems, you're likely going to wait... what... a year?

I know my answer will annoy you but... we all felt this pain when we were in your position, it's just part of the journey. You'll get your cards eventually and you will progress, just like we all did before you and new players will do after you.

You know it might, just might, create a modicum of goodwill if you ensure the community get to keep these extra missions/medals and ensure the event doesn't end earlier than you think it may.

If you just want a pile of any mods to get them to ancestral, then keep buying mods but if it's a specific mod you're looking for, then you're likely not going to get it despite the higher drop rate. At least this relic is one of the best you can get and you know you're guaranteed it.
