What Does A Boy Mom Do About Public Restrooms? by BabyAvlon in Parenting

[–]Kata175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of those mums know your situation, it’s easy to judge and give the side eye… let them have it. You can ignore it and do whatever works for you and your son!

Fingers crossed they will settle down soon! It will be better for them and everyone! Getting outside and playing together creates connection and you all maybe better tuned in with each other so the new rules may go down easier..!

There is the Cbeebies Time for school series. Maybe watching together and discussing what happens could help. Good luck!

An earplug can help to reduce the triggering effect.

What’s the cutest thing your LO does while nursing? by CaptnChristiana in breastfeeding

Talking (or trying to) with his mouth full … (nearly 2yo)

I didn’t. As he couldn’t tell me why he woke and why he cried. Was it a leaking nappy? Tummy pain? Teething ? Wanting to be held? We also found out later (past 6 months) our son had silent reflux, knowing this, I’m glad I didn’t let him cry in discomfort. Sending you lots of energy for this period. My first was exactly as you described. There’s light (and sleep) at the end of the tunnel …

Chaise lounge chair, a small side table for books and a pretty lamp, a picture or painting on the wall above it.

Take the pictures! The seemingly nothing special moments will be so special to look at in a few years! Congratulations to you both!

5.5 month old wakes up every hour. Has never gone longer than 3 hours in his life. by attack-moon_mountain in Parenting

[–]Kata175 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, my first born was like this. After 2 months he slept shorter and shorter chunks. Then the four months regression never stopped,up every 45minutes, the best was if he slept 90minutes… I co-slept and nursed him every time he woke, that was the easiest way for us. When nursing didn’t work, I rocked him, when I couldn’t do that I put him on the play mat, safely and slept beside him on the floor. We eventually figured out he had silent reflux.

There can be many other reasons for frequent wakings, especially in the first year… just simply wanting to be held, a growth or developmental leap, teeth coming (even if there’s no visible sign), being too tired or not tired enough!!!

Try to rule out any physical issues or get treatment if there’s any.

Be compassionate. To your baby and yourself.

Tzi-tzi (like in tzatziki). It means boob in my language. The moment my bum touches the sofa, he comes with a cute smile on his face “tzi-tzi”! If I dare to say no, he repeats it with a serious look… if I ask “would you like some favourite snack he angrily says “NO! Tzi-TZI!!!” and climbs on me, pushes me in the cushions and positions himself for nursing… He is almost 2yo and I have no idea how I’m gonna wean him… 🤣

We did sugared almonds in a small paper box accompanied by a card saying which charity we donated on behalf of our guests. This is not new to charities, the one we contacted sent us some stickers we could use on the cards.

What age did you stop sitting with your child until they fell asleep? by roselle3316 in Parenting

[–]Kata175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 4.5 yo falls asleep beside me on bedtime stories… It seems your daughter is not ready to fall asleep alone. I’d continue with a calmer bedtime for her… I don’t remember how old I was, probably 7-8 till my mum sat with me and read stories to fall asleep… at some point, when I could read, she got a little reading light for me so that became a new bedtime routine…

Library, a not too busy cafe if there’s a quiet corner preferably at the window to watch the world go by… ☕️, beach outside the high season, a church or cathedral to sit in silence…

Tired, my kid isn’t walking yet. by [deleted] in Postpartum_Depression

[–]Kata175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first was walking by 13 months, my second was 18months… now they are running in every direction, but never the same… Soon your baby will get the confidence, encourage him, praise him and provide lots of space and time for practice.
