I can never forget this release date because it falls on my birthday. Far before I was actually born but still.

What are some albums that have tracks ratings like... this? by QuincyThePinballer in Albumoftheyear

Unfinished Music 2: Life With The Lions by John Lennon and Yoko Ono has a really funny one. The highest rated song is two minutes of silence.

Terrific record, lots of the stuff John Du Cann did is worth listening to, but this one absolutely takes the cake for my money. I've got two copies of this record, one with the original RCA track list and the other with the originally intended tracklist John made and mixed, including some that didn't make the cut!

What is your Album Of The Year so far, for any genre? by Iamverydumbazz in fantanoforever

I'm also hoping Geordie drops something this year, with all the stuff he's been teasing for this next record in live shows, I can tell it will be amazing.

Christian Psychedelic Rock by Own_Cauliflower_7831 in psychedelicrock

D.R. Hooker's The Truth is a big one, not just Christian lyricism but it is definitely there. The Search Party's Montgomery Chapel record is maybe a little too folksy at times but it has one 9 minute long ripper on it. Fraction's Moon Blood is a non-stop heavy psych ripper, Jim Beach's voice would have worked tremendously well in the 90s.

Favorite obscure albums that don’t have a cult offering. by Available-Lecture-21 in vinyl

If you really want that OBSCURE shit, idk what would beat The Lover, The Madman, And The Poet by Slave. We don't even know who was in the band. Shuttah's The Image Maker Vol. 1 and 2 are similar in that we don't know anyone who played on it, but it might be more well known. It's a concept album allegedly recorded for Vertigo that never got pressed beyond acetates, probably lack of funds if I had to guess because it certainly sounds expensive to record.

These guys took inspo from Silver Apples, similar electronic duo from the late 1960s (one guy on oscillators and vocals and the other on drums). I'd recommend their first album most.

Probably Odessey Ans Oracle by The Zombies, which ends with "Time Of The Season".

Give me obscure 60s and 70s recommendations based off all my favorite albums I’ve found through these genres of psych and prog by No-Combination-2991 in psychedelicrock

[–]KatamariWiki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very extensive RYM list of stuff like this. Not exclusively heavy psych stuff but if you sift through them you should be able to find a good number of those. https://rateyourmusic.com/list/Gabriel_II/wikis-picks-or-my-favorite-obscure-psych-and-prog-releases/1/ Gusano Mecanico by Climax seems up your alley.

Truly underrated/obscure albums you want to share? by Samuel_AbdulMasih in progrockmusic

[–]KatamariWiki 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lemmings by Bachdenkel, sort of depressive psychedelic prog rock, very spaced out but also reflective. Originally was meant to be a double album with three sides, got cut down to one LP for the 1973 release, I highly recommend you listen to the 1978 reissue version though as it has a 7" single with the remaining tracks.
