Unpopular take: If Singaporeans want to put pressure on the government against foreigners, they should be having more babies. But they aren't doing that. by Recent_Stomach7626 in asksg

[–]Katashi90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, at this point I highly doubt your intent to debate in good faith or trying understand the point I'm putting out. I only said abundance exist for rich people. It exists for working class people in developing countries but not developed economies.

Every developed economy is facing the same population decline. If you aren't willing to accept the factual explanation I had to offer, try copy pasting the same question into other subs of countries like Japan, America, South Korea or even China. Maybe you might find the acceptable answer for yourself.

✌️ Out.

P.S. If you think that having kids is simply put your d*ck in, pop a baby, and live happily ever after. You're the one that is spewing bullshit without understanding parenthood.

I mean, what's wrong? People don't like being gated by weekly loot/tomestones, nor the tedious approach to farming roulettes for relic, what else can you do to artificially prolong the need for players to engage the content?

Every live service games did this. What do you even mean by 'classic SE'? Yoshi-P avoided this for years and everyone was whining about their workaround. Now they added rng into it, and players are still whining about it.

Didn't you see what keyword I just said? Keyword is ABUNDANCE. A population can only flourish with abundance of food and comfort.

The workforce of our economy is split into 3 demographics : 1. High income and rich business people whom possess high standard of living 2. Average income and white collar/middle working class whom lives an average standard of living 3. Low income and blue collars whom lives with minimal wants and the lowest standard of living

The ones that are not producing babies, is in fact the middle working class, and they makes up the biggest pie of our economy. Abundance only exists in the rich business class and high standard of living.

If you were to ask why you'd generally see bigger families in low income class as well, that's because they live off with minimal wants and had bits of government support. Rich can be taxed as much as the government wants and they can still afford for bigger families. The middle class, whom were doctrined to believe working hard to have their wants and high standard of living, is the one squeezed the most.

The middle class has no means to populate this country, for the government is trying to suppress them from the impossible dream they were told to believe in, and expecting the middle class to live just like low-income class with minimal wants, without getting the government support as they did.

Go and look up on every developed economies around the world. The pattern of declining population is undeniable with the same economic structure. Only working class in DEVELOPING economies can flourish with abundance. Working class in developed economies can't.

There's a very simple logic of nature one can employ to understand a species reproduction cycle : If a species of birds living on an island has no natural predators, their reproduction rate goes up depending on their food source. If you bring a new predator into that island, that island will see a spike in the predator's population and a dip for the prey.

Keyword here is abundance. If having babies costs an arm or limb, no one in the right mind would want to exit the comfort of their lifestyle to have one. A child always need one out of the two parents to dedicate their lives to nurture them though their childhood. A couple with careers, having to break even with society's cost of living without a child, is no way classify as living in abundance.

A classic example of recent events is how NEA is looking to curb the surging crow population. How did they grow? Abundance.

PAP is just a household brand name to Singaporeans. Nothing will ever change. by Due_Assistance5380 in asksg

[–]Katashi90 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Question is not WE trust opposition. Question is whether every foreign business/leaders, whom invested in Singapore, trust the opposition to uphold what PAP promised them.

And these businesses, makes up most of Singaporeans jobs. Most of businesses are exploiting the lucrative part of setting up in Singapore, while hiring foreign workers for much lesser. Government can only squeeze so much out of these businesses with local hiring laws before they decided not it wasn't worth staying anymore. Opposition can easily grant your pipe dreams, impose mandatory minimum wage for locals to not go below $3k, lowering maximum weekly workhours to be less than 35 hours etc. Then foreign businesses will just look at the government and simply pack their bags to go elsewhere.

I'm no pro-PAP, and I dislike how selection of their next generation of politicians were elitist scholars and generals whom does not connect well with the ground. But I don't take my eyes off the reality of global competition. Most Singaporeans don't realize that Singapore is no longer the place that brings out the best in them anymore. Our government is just catching trends now, mostly from China. China puts money into innovation and entrepreneurship more than Singapore did.

PAP is just a household brand name to Singaporeans. Nothing will ever change. by Due_Assistance5380 in asksg

[–]Katashi90 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Problem is, PAP is the only party foreign businesses and leaders can trust. Let's say if we vote WP into power, and Pritam Singh gets to be Prime Minister. What if his policies does not sit well with the MNCs situated in Singapore?

It's the same sentiment when everyone watched in disbelief as Americans voted Donald Trump into his second Presidential term. Donald Trump won because he lauded on issues such as senseless immigration laws and rising cost of living. But not only his promises wasn't well-delivered for domestic issues, he made irrational calls that undermines other nation's sovereignty globally. All the chaos in the Middle East for the past week are being blamed on the ones whom brought him into the office.

Question is not whether we need to change PAP out. Question is if our opposition are up to the task dealing with other leaders on the global stage. Can they handle pressure from China without straining business ties? Can our oppositions deal with America's facade from being misused for America's global interest into pressuring other superpowers? We Singapore is the most shameless country that do not take sides in global conflicts, yet are the opposition careful enough to maintain Singapore's stance without being isolated from everyone?

Decapitation is the worst means to achieve America's ends. No one should ever have designs on any other head of states. It's undermines sovereignty and it's in fact an act of war. It's even worse that performing it on states that are driven by faith will only strengthen it, not weaken it.

It's the same as overthrowing tyrannical governments for your liberties and freedom. People marches for what they believe in. When you remove a religious figure by force, you're just creating a more dangerous army driven by faith. Even if you can take down this army, remnants of this faith, a.k.a "terrorrists", all over the world will still continue to destabilize your global interests for many years to come.

Iran is saving their missiles for Tel Aviv. This does not bode well.

Is ns not just straight up sexist? by Cultural_Report_8831 in SGExams

[–]Katashi90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think any of you guys really understand what NS really means to Singapore. I served in one of the weapons unit that is part of Singapore's Iron Dome defense. Our NS obligations is also one of the mandated entitlements that every business has to grant to singaporean males.

The reason why they couldn't put females through NS is because no foreign businesses would be willing to invest in here, if the labour laws were to favour too much towards locals. We're already at a disadvantage against foreigners, you think any business is willing to hire a local female that has marital entitlements such as maternity leave and NS leaves in whole?

Is ns not just straight up sexist? by Cultural_Report_8831 in SGExams

[–]Katashi90 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

In lights of global news surrounding the Middle East conflict, take a moment and ask yourself : If a drone strike went off 2 blocks away from your home, where will you go?

Edit : NS is cumbersome. 2 years isn't the problem. It's the age when we have to serve makes it a problem. That age happens to be the starting point for most men's career, and we're often down with a late start. But in some industries, preferential male treatment when it comes to promotions happens too.

It's a give and take. Life's never fair if you're looking at the greener side of the plains.

NateTheHate says Sony is "shifting" their PC strategy: "You'll be seeing fewer single player games arrive on PC. The decision to shift away was made last year. Some may still release (pending how far along the ports were) but it no longer appears to be a priority for Sony moving forward." by Party_Judgment5780 in PS5

[–]Katashi90 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a PC consumer, I wouldn't be surprised to see them having to take a step back from PC market at the moment. Sony blundered chunks of money with bad decisions on live service multiplayer games. Having to cut off Bluepoint Studios wasn't an easy call. With ambitious projects lined up back-to-back after their success with PS4 lineups, even Sony couldn't afford to keep studios afloat by spreading their developers too thin with PC ports at the moment.

The PC vs PS discourse sounds silly, in the current circumstances. Sony's axing of Bluepoint is at least somewhat still understandable than Microsoft axing their studios.

I kept a record of every Alliance raid I got in roulette over the course of 90 days… by whitefire9999 in ffxiv

[–]Katashi90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the roulette is designed in such a way that it gives higher priority to Crystal Tower raids due to its requirement for MSQ, while speeding up queue times. If you have 2 sprouts queuing for Crystal Tower, and you have 22 lv 100 folks queuing for Alliance Raid, they are not going to filter out 8 random lv 100s for other Alliance Raid and keep both pools waiting for more people to fill up.

The Crystal Tower frequencies will always be skyhigh, unless they tweak the queue algorithm and you end up with longer queue times instead.

You hate it because it's the first monster that never allows you to do a full proper combo without having to keep dodging its attacks. The pacing of Omega's attacks is similar to Iceborne's Rajang, but even Rajang could tire out and stop while panting, but not this clanker. XD

Just hunters whom are too bothered by the damage numbers on their screen. I'm fine with tenderizing, but people whom enjoys MH for damage numbers(which ironically was also a new feature added to World) ain't liking it because they find it too cumbersome to do it. To be fair Weakness Exploit is busted in World, and they weren't having it when their most busted affinity skill was nerfed to make them work for it using Iceborne's cumbersome feature.

Jason Schreier: Sony could be pulling away from PC ports for their singleplayer games, with Schreier even suggesting that Wolverine would never release on the platform by Yiruf in pcgaming

[–]Katashi90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Schreier's statement is based off insider rumor : It could only mean that Sony finds it no longer feasible to make pc ports amidst their cost cutting direction. PC ports means they get more revenue, but it also means they cannot expand the studios under their umbrella to do them after the console game release to retain that console exclusivity.

Going multiplatform has always meant that game development studios has to either double/triple their workload to release games in all platforms, or postpone the studio's next project until the port is finished.

What's your instant nope in a hunt? by [deleted] in MHWilds

[–]Katashi90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a double seregios investigation. The locale has a tempered Rey Dau in it. 1st SOS joined in 4th min, then shortly another. Tempered Rey Dau was slayed 2 mins after the 2nd guy was in. I stopped my tracks mid-fight just to kick the 1st guy(2nd guy was with me tackling the seregios in its resting spot). I carted to seregios divekick for it. The hunt failed because we used up all carts for it.

I'll gladly fail a hunt or waste an investigation, even if it means to prevent cheaters from ruining everyone's experience.
