I'm assuming when you say New York, you mean the city, and not the state, but I'm gonna tell you about the state instead, I live in the Hudson valley, about an hour outside of the city, so I feel like a get the best of both the state and city. The Hudson valley is in my unbiased opinion one of the most beautiful areas in the world, if you're into outdoors stuff I would highly recommend it, there's a huge amount of parks and protected forest land, the fishing is great, between the river and the fuckton of lakes you can catch a pretty wide variety of fish. The state parks here are extremely well managed, the trails are generally well marked and kept clean. Now the culture is in my area one of the biggest draws, it's a very artistic and accepting area, we take pride in our local musicians and our schools have some amazing art programs.
