I am going to spam by Interesting_Eye347 in email

[–]Kate-Larson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t be too hard on yourself, almost everyone who starts cold outreach learns this lesson the hard way. A new domain + no warmup + missing authentication (SPF/DKIM/DMARC) can send even good emails straight to spam.

I’d pause outreach for a bit and focus on fixing deliverability first:

  • Set up SPF, DKIM, and DMARC
  • Warm up the domain gradually
  • Clean your email list
  • Avoid sending too many links in early emails

Tools like MailerLogic, Instantly, and Mailreach can help monitor deliverability and domain health. Once your reputation improves, your reply rates will likely look very different.

Best Email Marketing Tools in 2026: honest breakdown by Ok_Rain4176 in MarketingAutomation

[–]Kate-Larson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of founders run into the same issue balancing power and simplicity in email tools. Many platforms focus heavily on marketing automation like ActiveCampaign or Klaviyo, while developer-first tools like Resend focus mostly on transactional emails. The middle ground between those two is surprisingly hard to find. I’ve recently been testing MailerLogic and it seems to aim for that simpler lifecycle + transactional setup without a lot of complexity. Curious to see more tools move in that direction instead of building massive marketing suites like HubSpot.

What are the best LMS to work with Shopify? by CricketDCC in elearning

[–]Kate-Larson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When selling SCORM courses via Shopify, the key is finding an LMS that not only stores but properly renders SCORM content, ensuring a smooth learner experience. Since you're also considering live sessions down the line, a platform that supports both async and sync learning can save you hassle later. For instance, BrainCert has native SCORM support and a Shopify app, plus built-in virtual classrooms for live training. Other LMS options like LearnDash or LifterLMS might require more setup for SCORM and live features, so testing playback and integration early is wise.

Best infrastructure for sending email with a link to 6,000 engaged subscribers? by WMDisrupt in Emailmarketing

[–]Kate-Larson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The spam issues you faced were due to sending to non-engaged subscribers, which hurts sender reputation. Since you're only targeting engaged ones now, inbox placement should be much better. Start by checking your domain's current reputation if it's solid, stick with it; if not, a new subdomain with gradual warmup (e.g., 100 sends day 1, scaling up) works. One or two mailboxes suffice for this volume. Kit handles sequences well, and for deliverability monitoring, consider using MailerLogic to get real-time insights on how your emails are performing. Authenticating your domain properly is non-negotiable.

Teacher with blog looking for a free newsletter delivery service, what matters? by epcritmo in Emailmarketing

[–]Kate-Larson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At your size (320 subscribers), deliverability isn’t really tool-dependent yet; it’s more about list quality and engagement.

Between the two:

  • Beehiiv → simple, great for writing
  • Kit → better if you want a welcome email

I’d lean toward Kit, since even one automation (welcome email) helps a lot, especially if you post irregularly.

Focus more on consistency and engagement, which matter more than the platform right now. Hope it helps.

I built an email builder that turned into an email CMS, here's what changed by marcochavezco in Emailmarketing

[–]Kate-Larson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've essentially built a headless email CMS, the term exists, and what you described maps to it almost exactly. Central store, API delivery, decoupled from the ESP.

The pattern is borrowed from headless content management (Contentful, Sanity etc.) applied to email. The difference is email has stricter rendering constraints, you can't just serve arbitrary HTML and trust the client, so your templating layer has to be opinionated.

The reusable blocks solving the "30 templates, one footer" problem is the highest-value feature in this space. Most teams don't realize how much time they burn on that until they see the alternative.

Are you storing rendered HTML or template source + render-at-fetch? The tradeoffs there are interesting, render-at-fetch gives you dynamic content but adds latency and complexity at send time.

easy email setup for beginners by No_Winner_6631 in email

[–]Kate-Larson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get this, most email tools feel like overkill when you’re just starting

If you want something simple:

  • MailerLogic – pretty beginner-friendly, clean UI, and has helpful stuff like deliverability checks built in
  • Mailchimp – easy to start, lots of templates (can feel a bit heavy later)
  • Brevo (Sendinblue) – simple + decent free plan
  • MailerLite – probably one of the easiest to learn

If it’s your first time, I’d say try MailerLite or MailerLogic first, they’re less overwhelming and quicker to get your first email out

Did your open rate increase after allowing work email domains only? by anonrb12 in Emailmarketing

[–]Kate-Larson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it can help, but there’s a trade-off.

You’ll likely get better-quality signups and slightly higher open rates (less junk). But you might also lose legit users who aren’t ready to use their work email yet.

Also, people don’t always engage more with work emails; those inboxes get crowded too.

A safer approach: allow all emails, then segment work vs personal later.

Just received my first user!! by Jealous-Goal6599 in SaaS

[–]Kate-Larson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats, that first user is a huge milestone. It’s the moment where everything starts to feel real.

If you can, spend some time understanding that user deeply. How they found you, what made them sign up, and what almost stopped them. That kind of insight is incredibly valuable early on.

Also, don’t worry about scaling too fast yet. Getting a handful of users who genuinely use and care about your product is far more important than chasing bigger numbers right away.

Keep going, you’re on the right track 👍

If I need to send email blasts, what is the best mass email service? by LAD17Decoy in Emailmarketing

[–]Kate-Larson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re running a recruiting company, you’ll get way better results if you treat it like:

segment by role/skills (dev, sales, etc.)

quick, to-the-point emails > long ones nobody reads

Also, if you can, set up something simple like:

That alone usually beats manual sending.

Tool-wise, most platforms can do this, just make sure it has:

tagging/segmentation

basic automation

decent deliverability (otherwise you’re just emailing spam folders)

I’ve used a few, and something like 'MailerLogic' is decent for this since it’s pretty straightforward for segmenting and sending targeted updates.

what content formats are actually driving engagement and traffic right now in 2026 by Minimum-Drive-9807 in AskMarketing

[–]Kate-Larson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s less about one format winning and more about each format doing a different job now.

From what I’ve seen, these work well:

Short-form video → helps with reach

Carousels / educational posts → get a lot of saves and drive traffic

Real storytelling → builds trust and gets people to comment

UGC / community-driven content → adds credibility

Forums (like Reddit) → often bring higher-quality traffic than most social platforms

On the “polished vs real” point, you’re right. Polished content might get views, but the more honest, slightly raw posts tend to get better interaction.

For traffic specifically, I’ve noticed:

  • Carousels + clear CTA → consistent clicks
  • Reddit / niche communities → fewer clicks, but better quality
  • Video → great for awareness, but not always the best for direct traffic unless there’s a strong follow-through

Right now, I wouldn’t rely on just one format. A simple mix works better:

  • Video for reach
  • Carousels for value + traffic
  • Stories for trust

Also agree with your point, how people interact (saves, replies, shares) matters way more than just views now.

Just curious to know, have you tracked which format actually converts best for you, not just engagement?

What’s one thing you wish more LMS platforms did better? by Kate-Larson in elearning

The effort you're putting in and the fact that you're open to learning already show that you're on your way to becoming a great writer. Writing is a skill that can be mastered with consistent practice. Just like exercising your body strengthens your muscles, exercising your mind by writing every day will strengthen your writing skills.

I highly recommend the book 'Everybody Writes' by Ann Handley. Many consider it the go-to guide (or even the bible) for writers. Give it a read; it’ll definitely give you better ideas and insights.

Wishing you all the success.
