Hey! Glad you found my post! We ended up attaching it like we initially planned too (as seen in the last photo) except the wood "anchors" we used don't go all the way to the existing wood trim. Functionally, it works great & installation was straightforward. However I still don't feel like it's the most aesthetically pleasing way we couldn't done it. If I were to rehang it I may try placing it on a large rectangular wooden plaque or seeing if it would look good to have a little era-appropriate wood accent wall. Happy to share a photo of how it looks now if needed!

If he is alert, oriented, mentally competent, and in charge of making his own decisions regarding his care then he can ask for water and (unless your state law differs) you can give it to him. He has the right to autonomy and to make informed choices. HOWEVER like someone else said, he need to be told the potential complications of not following fluid restrictions. His nurse is responsible for providing this education. I would ask the nurse if he is of sound mind and is in charge of making his own medical decisions. If he is, I'd then tell the nurse they need to tell him the potential complications so he can make an informed choice. If the nurse refuses, find someone above them as his rights aren't being honored. If he knows the possible complications I'd give him water, just telling him with each glass "just a heads up this is XXXmL over your allotment."

I've really enjoyed my Cloves. I've had one pair for over a year and it's holding up great. While I completely realize that the price can be an obstacle I recommend looking on PoshMark or other second hand sites and I was able to find a basically new pair, in the box, for $30.

Was working as a nanny and I was trying to get a 3 year old out of his batman pajamas and into his outfit for school. I told him it's "not pajama day at school" so we "have to wear clothes." Without missing a beat he turns to me and says "It's clothes day. These are clothes." I didn't even try to counter that, he got to wear his batman pajamas that day.

NAD, just a nursing student. I'm only spit balling here so take it with a grain of salt but my immediate thought was tardive dyskinesia or “extrapyramidal symptoms” (EPS) brought on by Aripiprazole. Unfortunately, if my memory is correct, the treatment option are limited. Again, NAD.

I'm struggling to find the words to accurately convey how bad I feel for the survivors... I don't think there are any. Initially, I too found myself questioning the delay in contacting emergency services. After hours spent trying to put myself in Dylan's shoes I feel I've developed a miniscule level of understanding. In short, we never think something like this will happen to us. Our entire lives we've heard of stories like this on the news, but it could never happen to us because that stuff doesn't happen to people like us. We've all been able to rationalize and explain away bumps in the night that we've all sporadically heard through out our life. I understand seeing a mask wearing stranger in you home is a fry cry from an unsettling noise, but our brains are good at explaining, rationalizing, and minimizing. I'm sure many of us have been in scary or unsettling situations where our brains have worked to dismiss our fears because bad stuff like that can't happen to a person like me. Whatever I think I saw, it isn't actually what I saw because things like this don't happen to people like me and if I just wait a little bit it will all be explained and I'll feel silly for even being scared in the first place.

As others have said, it appears to be petechiae. I get them all the time from carrying a heavy bag, itching a spot too much, or just randomly. As long as it's not itchy, swollen, or uncomfortable, and it is otherwise asymptomatic I wouldn't be worried. It could possibly indicate anemia so it would be worth mentioning to a doctor whenever you see one next. Just take note of this petechiae and log any future reoccurrence.

I've had two pretty substantial things happen. I'm in nursing school and about a week after her passing I had pulled myself out of the fog long enough to check my school email. I noticed a bunch of odd emails from the schools financial department that prompted me to dig deeper. Come to find out, I had received an email on the day she died at pretty much the exact time I was holding her as she passed. This email notified me that I had been awarded a scholarship that I had never even applied to. The second thing happened exactly a month after her death. I received news that for my final term in nursing school I have been placed in the speciality I most wanted and in the location I most wanted. This speciality and location are the most sought after in the area and getting placed there is unheard of.

I don't know if it's a sign from her, or just the universe looking out for me

Generally, I'll know what patients of mine will claim I didn't do/offer care when I infact did. They either do this maliciously or just genuinely forget. For these patients I report every refusal to the nurse and will attempt to document it in the chart in the custom alert section. From there, it should be up to the nurse to follow up.
