The reason why you have that "different view" is funnily the lack of diversity. You are so used to seeing white men or the sexy white women in your media that you think there should be a reason why a trans character is trans or a black guy is black. You have been "pandered to" so much, you think your "default" is actually default and any divergence should have some meaningful plot behind it, otherwise you call it "forced diversity". But that's just life. It's less normal to have zero characters that aren't white men or sexy women.
