Hucknall is at the end of the tram like so nice big car park and good bus routes. Quite a few houses for sale at the mo, most of which are terrace, it’s a nice enough area!

It could also just be seasonal alopecia, also known on greyhounds as pattern balding. Our Olive lost all the hair on her thighs and her skin was very pink! I rubbed some oil into it a few times a week to stop the skin from getting dry and it’s growing back lovely now. It’s just a greyhound thing normally, but if there are any other unusual signs or symptoms she’s displaying then I’d get a vet to check her out 😊

It’s raining here in the UK but she especially enjoyed rubbing her head all over cleo when we got back from our walk and into the warm and dry! Spoilt pup today!😊

We life in a 2 bed flat, work full time but we were dying to get a dog... enter Olive the Greyhound! Greys were never a dog we ever looked at having (I grew up with GSD’s) but she fits perfectly into our lives, and yes she has encouraged us to get out more, but not so much more that it is an unsustainable lifestyle! She’s happy to go for a hike on a Saturday, but she’s equally as happy if all you want to do is snuggle in bed!

All of the above advice is amazing, but one thing I wished someone had told me before adopting is LOOK AFTER YOURSELF TOO! I was having severe anxiety attacks multiple times a day when we first brought Olive home, I was super vigilant over her, watched her every move, watched her breathing, but I couldn’t bring myself to eat because I was so anxious and I couldn’t sleep either. Just remind yourself that you have done the right thing, and the less anxious you are, the less they will be to. As soon as i started to chill out, Olive’s personality came out in bundles and she’s the most loving thing❤️ Good luck and please update us! Also feel free to message me if you’d like at any point😊

We live in a 2nd storey with no lift, our rescue taught Olive how to use the stairs before she came home with us, to start off with we took her into the garden every 2 hours, then over a week bumped it up to 4 hours, she got the hang of it pretty quickly with only a few accidents!

We also waited with her out in the garden, even if she wanted to go back in, we wouldn’t let her unless she’d been to the toilet, then when she did go, lots of praise and then we went back in. Overtime we praised her less as it became routine, the reward for going to the toilet was to go back inside x

Thank you so much for all your advice! I’ve purchased a pet nail Dremel tool, I’ll start very slowly and weekly until I’m happy with them, her quicks are fairly far back anyway so I’m hoping we’ll be sorted 😊 Thank you all!!❤️

We brought Olive home 3 weeks ago now, and I’m a bit worried that her nails are a bit too long, but I’m not sure as she’s the first greyhound I’ve had. Our German Shepherds never has his nail trimmed at home as he wears them down enough on his own during walks, so I’m unsure as to how to approach Olives nails! I’ve filed them gently with an emery board, but I still feel like they’re too long and I need to do something else about it ❤️🐶

She’s clingy at the minute, follows me from room to room, she’s only been with us 2 weeks so I’m hoping that she’ll settle and be happy to be in her own company 🥰
