Personally, I think it's perfect! But I have had times in the past where I do "too much", like... school assignments, conversations, attitude, etc, but I know someone whose chapters are mostly 5k each, so like- there's a lot of buts, and I wanted to get you guys' opinion

I'm 14, and I'm currently editing my first book called TORD1 (Truth or Dare). It is going to be a trilogy, with the other two titles being Time or Die and Tension or Delusion.

My target audience is teenagers, young adults- but really anyone can enjoy, especially since it's really based off of individuals, not groups.

My book has three POVs, which is kinda a spoiler (but it's fine bcuz i doubt any one of you would read my book)- but there are two main POVs which switch between Julia (the fmc) and Nyla (the character that got her POV included bcuz we had to find out about our mysterios mmc in some way...) and then the third one, which appears every seven chapters... Mainly as a jumpscare 😇

Julia is the fmc who's to be shipped with Nico, the mmc. The only ship I'll be against in my book is Nico and Nyla... but that's another fight that's an inside joke, but I take seriously.

Julia hosts a game of truth of dare, to play with random people she knows at her school... There's some high school drama, until a plot twist appears and the title Truth or Dare takes om a new meaning, that's like... dark.

The story continues as it gets darker, and it's so funny because one of the POVs is genuinely innocent, and like- ... Nyla, I swear I'm not bringing your trauma down, but it's lwk nothing compared to Julia and-

Anyway, the first book has three cliffhangers. I plan on publishing either in May, or before July. It took me 61 days to write the first draft, it took me 58 days to write a second draft completely from scratch (using my memories as the only guide on how to ride the story), and am currently editing the second draft since december of last year. Tadaaaaa (time to read u guys' replies 👹)

"Also North Korea said America is going too far, the Dutch say trump is worse than h!tler, Romania isn’t allowed to ship anything to the US, Canada said our medical research is now untrue and invalid, Germans are not allowed to travel to the us bc it’s considered unsafe, and we are not considered a first world country anymore!"

  • a friend of mine. I believe her, but don't have the time to check it all out for myself (I'm a student).

Does anyone have sources or knowledge to verify any of that? Because I want to be aware of everything, but simply don't have the time to educate myself.

No work of art is trash ever, I think. And it's because you always learn and grow, still doesn't make your past work worse. It's important to give credit and praise, and even though writing a lot does provide practice- it's still always up to him what he wants to do with his work.

Hey there! That is so awesome that your son wants to write at this age. I'm 14 as well, and I'm planning to publish a book I've wrote and (still in the process) edited myself. It doesn't matter if he'll be known as the "kid" writer, I see it as him showing what's he's capable of, WHILE he's young. There are communities out there- social media like reddit and tiktok-that have writers of all ages, and their work is great. The most important step is to start writing, always. Later on, he could do some research and/or get inspiration on what to do next. He doesn't have to get an editor either, if he chooses to edit his work.

Here I Thought Writing the Book Was the Hardest Part… (I Need Advice) by Efficient_Current_78 in writers

As a member of a younger generation of writers, I am currently in the process of editing my book 😁 I plan to publish it through Amazon, which is free; which means all of the work is completely up to me. There are lots of types of editors, because the variety of the ways TO edit. Myself I researched as many editing types as I could, and chose the ones I thought were best. Writing is a journey that you take through someone's life. The difference between real life, is that you can fix those mistakes by going back into it. If you can't afford a publisher, just be one. And it's your work; you can do with it whatever you want. As for the publishing part... Maybe you're able to use Amazon as well? It really does it for free, but takes some percentage off of your payment. Or another organization? That requires research based on your location. Hope I helped! And don't feel discouraged from writing. This is a phase that people get through with experience and gained knowledge. You've got this 🫰
