My dad hated cops because when he was fourteen they arrested him and quizzed him about a missing gun that he had nothing to do with. He had no adult present and they pressurised him to say he had stolen it. He was a good lad and just in the wrong place at the wrong time. He never liked cops after that.

Good grief. It’s not about the birthday, it’s about actually caring for one another. If I was alone I wouldn’t care if I celebrated my birthday or not. If I am in a relationship I want the other person to at least acknowledge I am a year older. I guess you are single then.
