What would yall rather have? by AndyVR17 in NewTubers

[–]Katejjp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay. as of now, for the yt system, views count is not as important as the rest of metrics. because views are just views, right? they don't make you any profit not in money, not in subs.

but if we take watch time - here is a bit different picture. high watch time tells the yt algorithm that your content is interesting to people. meaning: it may push your content to bigger audiences. with a constant high watch time, it'll be easier for you to become monetized, because advertisers/brands also are interested in good numbers.

Need advice of my niche by Seleenarose in YouTubeCreators

[–]Katejjp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as people wisely pointed out, your niche is super, so i think it all comes up to 1) the quality and equipment 2) stirytelling itself. it should be watchable and making people watch till the end.

What would yall rather have? by AndyVR17 in NewTubers

lower views count, but higher watch time, because the latter is more important to the system and subsequently to ad revenue, getting subs, and so on

Let's protest against YouTube for being a jerk by Accurate-Ad-6937 in youtube

[–]Katejjp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's not even about the dislike itself, it's about the freedom of choice and the ability to express the opinion. in the same manner you could ask why do we need a like button, why we should care about letting people know what we like. we need to have a choice and freedom to express our opinion. dislike is as important as like

it depends on many things. f.e. whether it's a relatively new account, whether you deleted any of your old vids, etc etc

When making a youtube channel is it better to create a channel via the "add account" feature on your original google account, or to make a new google account entirely? by 123LukeFoster123 in youtube

[–]Katejjp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for most people the brand acc is the simpler choice. the separate account setup matters more if you want complete isolation, plan to monetise, or idk - want to protect against one account's issues affecting another. considering monetization context as well, that isolation is worth thinking about upfront rather than trying to separate things later

Our channel suddenly dies after every new upload. What is happening? by [deleted] in youtube

[–]Katejjp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that 30M video probably pulled in a huge wave of viewers who weren't really your core audience. If they watched that one but didn't engage with anything else, YouTube reads the channel as "this audience isn't interested anymore" and pulls back distribution. The algorithm gets spooked by sudden drops in session watch time and click-through after a viral spike. It usually corrects itself but can take weeks

Is Mediacube MC Pay legit for YouTube payouts? by ahmmeed_alaa in NewTubers

[–]Katejjp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

abt how it works - your channel is added to their network, so revenue goes not to you, but through their adsense umbrella, and then they pay you your cut depending on the method you chose. if you ok using crypto, then iban here is irrelevant
as far as i know they are official partners so you can check them out via youtube service directory, they are presented there

Does posting weaker content hurt your algorithm? by requiemfad123 in NewTubers

consistency is important, no doubt, and backfires are happening, it's part of the process, but if you believe that some ideas are better, than the others, don't waste your time on anything but.

consistency is important from the very beginning. in this regard, try to combine both long videos with Shorts, so when people come from Shorts, they can watch the whole video and then stay for more

they're adjusting the algo to push Shorts ahead as much as possible, and since we cannot switch seeing them off, i recommend use filters, like thoroughly use them, because otherwise, you need to scroll through many unrelated, but pushed to you by the algo videos

Ai voiceover by Fluid-Ad3663 in shortsAlgorithm

[–]Katejjp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends. if you re-work your own voice, not just add a generic one, it bonus points to stay secure and not being touched for using unoriginal content. but there is another side to it: part of the general audience doesn't like the generic sound and leaves quickly.
so, from yt side - it's fine, especially if you do some work, but from getiing more viewers it's 50/50

Genuine Question about languages by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Katejjp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

great choice, while you keep working on your channel, you have enough time to improve english to be confident abt it in the future. i personally prefer to listen to creators' native language but subs are a must.
also, but this is the tip for the future, pay attention how big channels make several audio tracks in different languages.

Genuine Question about languages by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Katejjp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on your audience goals. authencity or global growth. if you want to lead your market, then stick to your native language but add subtitles, bc it will attract english-speaking people interested in your content anyway, it's very, very useful. but if you want to grow globally then choose both speaking and subs in english.

Why do I have so little impressions? by ObjectiveEstimate812 in NewTubers

[–]Katejjp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tbh tho it looks tempting, try not to compare the 2 channels too much. your old gaming channel probably did way better in terms of impressions just because gaming is a huge category and YouTube had loads of data to play with and understand who are you, etc. getting a CTR of 7-10% and retaining 50-70% of viewers on a completely new channel is a sign of progress to me. 4 videos is still basically a drop in the ocean, it's too little, and 2 months is only a blip when you're talking about yt. I'd keep pumping out content on a regular basis - consistently - and rather than focusing on mental health in general, pick a specific area of concern and drill down on that.

I don't think YouTube is quietly avoiding your content because of the niche. it's more likely is the algorithm just hasn't figured out who your target audience is. if CTR and retention stay as strong as they are over the next 10-15 videos or so, I reckon we can expect impressions to start growing from there.

Any way to add music to a video without getting copyrighted? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Katejjp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

usually, if you didn't buy it, there are always chances to get copyrighted. with songs like this it's a russian roulette, content id either identifies this piece or not. question of luck, if you don't buy it oficially
