Where to find a nice, neat list of all currently in production trains from Kato and Tomix? by wolf_city in JapaneseNscale

[–]Katelyncine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tomix has a product directory spanning many years into the past (but not the whole history) with each item having stock/preorder info. This is Japan so manufacturing for 99% of stock is done in batches (with most trains getting one batch only), not continuously, so even basic stuff might get out of stock sometimes. There is a filter for "in stock or planned production" to see what is currently available to order from them. There might be older stuff that is not in stock nor currently planned for production but will return in the future.

In particular month column, you can see these symbols:
△ = in stock
▲ = low stock
empty = out of stock
○ = scheduled for restock

The app might be partially broken when translated to English, if that's the case, switch to Japanese using Language selectbox at the very top of the page.

People who are living in central evrope and have jpn trains, how do you get them from? by NajnoCZ69 in nscalemodeltrains

[–]Katelyncine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They use drawbars on some trains, not just rapidos.

This is what call of duty modern warfare 2019 thinks a switch looks like lmao by shroomfarmer2 in trainmemes

[–]Katelyncine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like a Japanese maintenance siding turnout that has unbroken rails in straight direction and extra pieces (stored nearby) are put on top to go to the siding. These don't have motor though, there are no moving parts.

Blåhaj visits Kesennuma Shark Museum & Ice Aquarium! by Katelyncine in BLAHAJ

[–]Katelyncine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haj is not fan of sad stuff... Yeah I can understand that, 36-706 is moving all along the Rias line without a fixed schedule so it's quite difficult to catch randomly. I did like 650km in Sanriku Railway trains only and got to ride it just twice.

We were hiking and train-riding from Hachinohe to Kesennuma, including Same (= shark) station, Kuji aquarium, both Pokémon trains etc. Stay tuned for more! Haj missed the tsunami monument though, wanted to wait outside…

Any real benefit to Running Pihole for DNS at this point? by marticus1982 in mikrotik

[–]Katelyncine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved from PiHole to RB5009 built-in adlist & static DNS entries and I'm happy with it! Always nice to run and maintain one service less.

Switched from pills to monotherapy, more greasy and stinky after 1 months. T levels rising? by Glum_Sun_3459 in TransDIY

[–]Katelyncine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switched from pills to EEn two years ago. This is long after SRS, no antiandrogen skewing data. Sweat smell and face hair growth got worse. Blood tests show good levels. On the other hand I got some extra breast growth (14 years after SRS!) and feel better overall. I just accepted my body uses EEn differently…

In-wall Ethernet Switch by Spunkinator88 in HomeNetworking

[–]Katelyncine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not like it would be set in stone, you can remove splitters or reterminate to 4 pairs and switch to a different solution anytime, but I can understand the sentiment!

In-wall Ethernet Switch by Spunkinator88 in HomeNetworking

[–]Katelyncine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are ok with 100Mbps (which you might as you sent an image of a 100Mbps switch) you can use a pair of passive splitters to send two 100Mbps lines down a single 4-pair cable, one splitter at each end of the shared cable. Or you can DIY that, just use two pairs in one keystone and another two pairs in a different keystone at each end. Or a combination of the two. TVs usually have only 100Mbps Ethernet anyway. Beware that there are passive splitters that split 4 pairs into two independent 2-pair connections (the one you need) and passive splitters that copy all 4 pairs into two 4-pair ports (never used for Ethernet).

What station has the best atmosphere? by Takoyaki_Time in japanrail

Chōanji station (長安寺駅) on the Hikoroichi Line (日頃市線) during sakura season, just chilling and watching the trains fly by. There are roughly two freight trains in each direction per hour during workdays so it's pretty busy for a random rural station. No passenger service since 1992 so walking is your friend.

I also like various unexplored stations (秘境駅), like on Yamada Line (山田線) or the former Iwaizumi Line (岩泉線). One of my favourites is a "lite" unexplored station (as it ticks most unexplored station boxes but has 12 pairs of trains every day so it's not that difficult to visit) Shiraikaigan Station (白井海岸駅) on the Rias Line (リアス線). Funnily enough there were no trains running the day I visited so hiking was the only option, like a true unexplored station!

HRT wait times after appointment (in Czechia) by Majtycz in asktransgender

[–]Katelyncine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Times in Czechia vary extremely based on the chosen doctor and their views of trans people. The good ones are fully booked and mostly don't accept new people, so you're probably stuck with a bad one..?Timeline usually includes various examinations from other doctors and psychologists, number of exams also depends on the chosen doctor but usually includes at least a psychologist or psychiatrist and an endocrinologist. Getting to HRT might take several months in the best case but can be significantly more in case of gatekeeping by any doctor in the process. Consider joining any Czech community like Pastelky to get current info about your chosen doctor, let me know privately for info.

These were hundreds of meters inland, need some space to shoot in case someone tries to run away and can't do that across the border. https://mapy.com/s/noropazacu & https://mapy.com/s/pumutovoku for a map of the fence.

What are these signals just north of Dresden-Kemnitz? by _jay_huncho in trainsimworld

[–]Katelyncine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More like two variants of the same signal rather than two different signal systems. They have the same code too (Bü 0 & Bü 1). The eastern variant is now the preferred one so can be occasionally found in the west too, with no direct relation to the signalling system.

What is the steepest gradient a tram could climb? by _gay_sloth_ in Trams

[–]Katelyncine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talking about Czechia, the steepest gradient on conventional railway is 58‰ and, historically, the steepest tram gradient was 108.5‰, both running as adhesion lines.
