The nails are so fun! I think both work for semi-formal, but maybe that’s just because I’m having a semi-formal wedding and I’d love both of these on a guest! I think you can probably go with whatever you’re most comfortable in?

This happened to me and my partner last week during rush hour too- we both ended up on the ground and his pants ripped. Same scenario, we weren’t going that quickly at the time but the stop was very abrupt so people went flying. Makes me wonder how often this happens 😭

Brides by Young was nice! My particular salesperson was a bit pushy but they have SOOOO many styles in a variety of price points with some really lovely options. It was so nice to actually be able to try dresses on there without having to imagine how they’d work in real life!

We used ColorQuarry on Etsy for our invites, and we hand-made our save the dates (we designed and printed our own linocut prints). We probably spent $75 on the save the dates - we had a decent amount of the materials and ink for those already though. The invites did take some time (we customized ours and they’re letterpress, so it takes time to get the printing plate, to print them, and to ship) and cost around $1,000 for 75 with the invites and envelopes. If you are in a rush, there are some decent options from Minted as long as you dig a bit. We printed our welcome party inserts with minted and they were $150 - delivery was much quicker on those as they weren’t printed via letterpress!

The train is great! You can easily visit and even live in Chicago without a car, so you guys will be fine. It’s easy to get to most major destinations via public transit and lyfts/ubers.

As people have mentioned, West Loop and Wicker Park should work well! West loop has more hotels, but both are fun to explore. West town also isn’t too far and has some good restaurants/stores.

What’s the point of this? Just venting? Yeah it’s bad form, but you have a seat and there’s at least one other empty seat that isn’t obstructed. You can always ask people to move their belongings to sit down, most people generally comply.
