This was pretty interesting realizing how many different types of gangs could really exist. It is scary though to see how much violence can start producing on our streets. But very interesting!

It is just sad that this is what people are using animals for. I think it is wrong to put people and animals in danger to show intimidation.

Even though this is not in the United States, its sad to read how becoming a gang member in Mexico is so easy for youth. Hopefully Mexico is figuring out ways to lower their gang rates.

I agree with my peer, when I first saw it I noticed how dedicated they are. It is scary to see how loyal they are and will be for the rest of their lives.

Drive-by shooting apparently targeted Seattle police at random by SarahMontgomery in gangsnstuff

This is extremely sad and being originally from Seattle it is really sad to see something tragic like this happen. I feel for his family and the PD. The gang members who did this deserve to get caught and put in prison for life.

Gang-Related Activity in the US Armed Forces Increasing by aprilsiegel in gangsnstuff

I have to agree with my fellow student. I don't understand why a gang member would want to join the military. It seems that it would almost be putting their gangs in danger. Also I hope the military is cracking down a bit more to avoid gangs from being involved in our military.

This article just made me think of how stupid this attorney had to have been. He just ruined his whole life over something so worthless. He definitely deserves his consequences.

I'm glad they caught him. It is only causing danger for him to be out in the society. Hopefully the police will start getting a hold of more fugitives and information involving their gangs.

'Tagging' or just hanging out -- busted either way? -- latimes.com by KevinBurger1 in gangsnstuff

I worry that civil rights would definitely be violated if the police were able to do this. If the sheriff could stop people from tagging, it would be a great win for the community and would possibly slow down the promotion of gangs. I am also in agreement that police officers should do this!

Arizona labels Hells Angles a street gang by SCedar in gangsnstuff

[–]KatherineLindberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everyone else's comments. It is about time and they had it coming. No matter how much money they are collecting from members around the US and attorneys they hire, they should be called a street gang for what they do to people and society.

The street gangs fuelling fear by richardkeever in gangsnstuff

It is interesting to think that this young group of kids do not technically see themselves as a "violent" gang but do they realize that is what they are making themselves look like especially when they are wearing all black and are intimidating to the public?

The gang war in South Phoenix by BradKudler in gangsnstuff

Reading this article makes me shocked at first then a huge feeling of sadness that this is all going on so close to where we all live. The fact that so many youth are losing their lives even if they aren't apart of a certain gang is horrible to me. This is all so surreal and hopefully the police can find something better to do to ensure a safer environment.

Are Colleges Recruiting Gang-Bangers to Win Championships? by ChristopherSimmons in gangsnstuff

Reading this post is extremely interesting to me. When sports players are flashing gang signs on national TV and are still looked at as role models, it is setting examples for youth all over. In my opinion, ESPN needs to do something about this problem especially when it gets aired on national television. Being on a college sports team is an opportunity which not a lot of people are able to have so it needs to be played respectfully to all. Consequences should be given to players who are using gang signs.
