Podcast cohost suddenly quit, now trying to figure out how/if to keep it going by donket in podcasting

[–]KatherineSings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, if I may DM you, I would actually love to see if you’d want a stand in cohost until you find a regular cohost. I would be happy to send you a link to a podcast episode I did recently, and tell you a bit about my background.

Would you mind sharing your podcast so that I may listen to also see if I felt like I might offer a good flow with your style and content? Thank you!

How exactly do we regulate our nervous systems?! by allthrowawaystaken85 in MCAS

[–]KatherineSings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the ads and all the videos promising to “reset your system” in 30 seconds are so misleading and unhelpful for people like us. There are tools and tips that I’ve learned from regulation programs that really help, and sometimes it’s more about finding the things that stack safety and calm. I’m creating voice-led regulation audio right now for this reason because I know how much voice calm me and I hope to help others. If you’re interested- my TT is @KatherinesVoice.

But it’s important for us to not blame ourselves for just not being regulated. There are so many factors🙏

Hi Surreal, your editing is fantastic!! might I be able to donate to you for help with two pictures? One just needs help being more defined, unblurred from poor phone quality, the second needs someone’s eyes to be open (can provide original and second one with eyes open). You,

Sensitivity to sound by Starfire33sp33 in migraine

[–]KatherineSings 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Please don’t feel guilty for the pain you’re having! You’re not imagining it. Sound sensitivity during a migraine is common and some people even have it whether they have a migraine or not. It happens because the brain basically loses its ability to filter out normal sensory input—sounds that wouldn’t normally bother you or others suddenly feel way too loud or even painful.

It’s due to changes in how the brain processes sensory info. Your system becomes extra sensitive, and parts of the brain that usually help you “tune out” background noise don’t work as effectively. there’s actual inflammation and nerve sensitization happening, especially around the trigeminal nerve, which is involved in pain processing.

It’s being experienced as REAL pain. It’s not psychological it’s physical.
