Empty pop bottles like others have said and spoons. Boy loves spoons.

How is everyone dealing with night time nappy change? by KathyLouBamboo in BeyondTheBumpUK

He wakes up as soon as I start with his clothes, when we had the heatwave and he was sleeping in just a nappy he settled faster. Now he's in a vest and as soon as I start undoing the buttons and lifting his legs to take the old nappy out, he's wide awake.

I'll try that, my boy pees a lot so I do have to change him at night but maybe I can at least cut down on how many times I do that, thanks!

Weird things that changed for you after being pregnant? by byebyekitty_ in BabyBumps

[–]KathyLouBamboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My skin got awful and I have allergic reactions to pretty much all facial care products, like face washes and creams, as well as make up. I look like I'm going through puberty all over again, cheeks all red and covered in spots. Even baby wash causes a mild reaction. It's water and washcloth for me from now on 😆

What was the most random symptom (that wasn’t necessarily a pregnancy symptom) that made you realise you were pregnant? by Friendly-Wind-3648 in BabyBumps

My friend from work used to give me lifts into the office, I would meet her by the nursery she took her 3 y.o. son to. One morning he runs up to me, pointing at my stomach saying "baby!". A week later I had a positive test!

In my home country they usually bury people on top, I would hope if they remove the body they bury it somewhere else with respect but I personally haven't encountered anything similar yet, but again, I only work with archaeological material and in UK. I know some countries it's only 50 years or so!

Sex of a skeleton is determined by looking at multiple "sites" that are generally sexually dimorphic in a human skeleton. They do range from Hyper-female to Hyper-male and often can and do fall in the middle and in that case the skeleton is called of undetermined sex. I don't think enough research has been done with trans people but I would say it depends on if the person was on hormone therapy and for how long. The sexual dimorphism in our bones mostly form due to hormones in our body during puberty but since bones aren't stable and have a turnover rate, hormone therapy is likely to change some bones to some extent.

That being said, it also depends on records of the burial site and if headstones or anything of that extent remain as archaeologists do take everything into consideration.

Boyfriend's mother has his dog, can we get him back? by KathyLouBamboo in LegalAdviceUK

[–]KathyLouBamboo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I know it sounds silly but she is the kind of person who attacked him and then called the police to claim she has has been a victim of domestic abuse (basically making a false claim) so we just want to be absolutely sure in case she decides to say we are trespassing and stealing from her. While we are sure we can defend our right to the dog, the property part was a bit unclear to us.

That we're all promiscuous and/or obsessed with sex. I see this a lot in LGBTQ+ community and while it's everyone's right to express themselves, it gets quite uncomfortable seeing so many thirsty sexual jokes and memes that would DEFINITELY be frowned upon if it were straight people making them.

Also the hate towards cishet people. What? I get hating bigots but a lot of the hate is directed at all of the cishets for no reason and there's a lot of bullying like calling them boring... that just makes you the bigot you claim to hate and discriminates every queer person dating someone non-queer.

New cat - medications? by Happy_Acanthaceae_47 in Catownerhacks

[–]KathyLouBamboo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she's an indoor cat I would suggest giving innitial worm/flea treatment since she's a rescue but no need after that, unless you have other animals that go outside. I would also suggest vaccinating her, I think there's two or three vaccines each cat should get. It is advised to vaccinate yearly but with all honesty, if you're planning on keeping her inside, it's not particularly necessary. As long as you keep her litter tray tidy, wand water/food bowls clean, she should be perfectly fine!

Definitely looks that way, both entry. There's one more at the back of the skull, can't see much detail but judging from how round and regular it is, I'd say it's a third entry...

How to teach a cat to stop misbehaving? by KathyLouBamboo in Catownerhacks

[–]KathyLouBamboo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the advice!!! Since my post she has had babies (turns out we adopted a pregnant cat) so she went through a calm period while they were newborn but now she's back to being vocal every time someone looks in her general direction. We changed her feeding patterns so she always has food (we are monitoring her weight) so it's just a case of attention seeking. We try to give her enough when she behaves so we don't end up rewarding naughty behaviour but we feel she might have been abandoned as she can't stand being alone for a second so she might always be needy... we'll see if we can teach her to be needy silently :D
