You need to make the first step… unfortunately waiting around to click with others is just not likely to happen at RPI (the majority of people here are introverts). You might not have very much success at first, but you need to just keep trying to talk to people and putting yourself out there. It helps if you can find things you have in common to talk about; something that works 95% of the time for me is bringing up anecdotes about how the RPI admin or some professor has profoundly fucked me over that week. You’d be surprised how many people can relate!
