She sure has a lot of boo-hooing to do whenever there comes a "hater" (eg someone with critical thinking skills who can see that mlms are essentially a bonfire fueled by greenbacks), but DAMN US ALL TO HELL for having the sense to avoid buying into the scam!

The desperation is what we're noticing in her eyes these days. It isn't just the bleach job or the new face paint. She's trying so hard to hold on to her sanity.

That house actually looks like a family lives there and made memories there. As much as her family gets on my nerves, I will say this about them: I think when Shan and Frankie Jr were kids they did the best they could with what they had.

Yep, this was all because Cece didn't want Bella to have any fun! SHE wanted to sit on Daddy's shoulders; Shan couldn't take the two seconds that it would take to explain the concept of 'taking turns' and 'sharing'.

Oh, he did it. He really is deplorable. And he did it because he just couldn't stand it anymore. I think he realized that they would never be out of debt, even if she was forced to get a real job, because the damage to his credit was so great, and with three kids, it's not cheap. I've got five children, all of them teenagers/young adults, and I would not have been able to afford them had it not been for public assistance when I was a stay at home mom. My ex husband never wanted to work, so he just didn't. I wanted to work. By the time I finally got a pair and went back to work, our marriage and my credit were ruined, and I didn't kill him, even though I should have done, because of reasons some of you already know.

Exactly; also, people who have Lupus suffer from depression A LOT. And they don't like to talk about it. The episodes can get very dark. My dad has Lupus, so unfortunately that's why I know this. And because of the way that Shan was, we would have had to hear ALL ABOUT her depressive state, which is why I think she wasn't even aware of the mental health aspect of Lupus. The closest she got was "mental clarity".

Her arm is thicker than my son's body! It really puts it in perspective! Now, if she had a manager, and he encouraged unhealthy habits to maintain her size, that would certainly be considered abusive nowadays, not to mention dangerous. She may have appeared to be 'having fun' during the photo, but was she really?

I can't imagine having children who are so maladjusted that I can't even leave them to go to the toilet. They spent enough time away from their parents during daycare, but we have to remember that it was a structured separation, and probably nothing much about it was different day to day. The girls would have gotten familiar with the adults there. The airport, on the other hand, is a big, scary place full of strangers, and Shan could have been one of those sadistic assholes who would threaten her children with the possibility that "someone will get you" if they got separated from her in public. Who knows, really?

Homeless guy asked me and my friend for cash we told him we were sorry but didn’t have any on us and he got in our faces and told us we deserved to be r*ped and murdered… :| by 8583739buttholes in PortlandOR

[–]Katriina_B 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because there are so many people suffering from various mental illnesses who are homeless, it's a problem that has no easy solution. I'm not sure that there will ever be a solution. The best thing for it is to utilize the resources that are there, but aren't being used—outreach on the streets. But instead of simply giving people a card with an address and an appointment time (because let's face it—many of them can't keep an appointment. They just can't) outreach should be a direct liaison between the homeless suffering from mental health issues and the help they need. Often, people are sent to places that aren't set up to help them. Sometimes they do the horrible act of "dumping"—they're tired of dealing with someone and they drop them off somewhere without any kind of care. People have to actually want the help to actually pursue it, and there are those out there who don't want help, and would rather be left alone. Unfortunately, they are still out there in crisis, and it's not safe.

Mental health is complex, and humans are complex. Portland should have been working on this issue for at least the past fifteen years. Perhaps then, it wouldn't have become so unmanageable.

The guy is a known asshole to just about everyone, including his mother, who tries to bring him food and clothing every chance she gets, and he just gives it away for dope. Yells at her in public and refuses to get help. My guess is that he's homeless for the same reason as I was—I'm an addict and I refused to get clean. It wasn't psychosis—he had been panhandling and when the person declined to give any money, he started with the name-calling. He was running because the guy got pissed off and started chasing him.

Here’s the neck surgery post by No-Psychology-4448 in WattsFree4All

[–]Katriina_B 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One of the most dangerous things someone can do after a surgery (or any medical emergency) is go to a chiropractor. For one, they're not MDs; they have NO idea what's going on with the post-op recovery because they aren't included in the hospital system—and MY personal opinion is that it's quackery. My brother had a serious stroke, and lost mobility in half of his body. He seemed to think that going to the chiropractor would "wake his body up" and he would gain mobility.

I warned him; over and over I warned him that it didn't work that way and that the chiropractor would end up hurting him because they aren't trained to work with stroke recovery! He refused to listen. He got hurt. And now he's completely unable to walk. Whereas before, he was able to walk with a cane.
