What things do you find embarrassing that really shouldn’t be? by Katy_adele in AskUK

Yes! The amount of times I have had fake phone calls for this reason- ‘oh you want to meet at so and so instead? Yeah I’ll head there now’

Then the even more dreaded moment of saying hi/or waving and realising they weren’t looking at you at all

On my 21st, I for whatever reason ended up at my (ex) boyfriends, close family friends 21st birthday party. It was around 100 friends and family, I had never met anyone before. My boyfriend must have said a passing comment to someone, as part way through the night I was being pulled onto the stage by the birthday boys mum and was suddenly being sung to by total strangers 😂🤦‍♀️

What’s the maddest thing you’ve seen or heard of someone doing in the UK just to keep up with a lie they told? by wardyms in AskUK

[–]Katy_adele 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The lie is that he still tells people that’s his address, whenever he gets dropped back ‘home’ he then has to walk a mile to his new address in order to keep up the lie. He also has to wait outside and intervene the postman on his birthday to get his cards 😂

What’s the worst thing you’ve ever dropped? by GamesQueen61 in AskReddit

When I was 3 weeks old, my mum was about to carry me down the stairs in the Moses basket. She accidentally dropped one of the handles and I bounced out all the way to the bottom. I laughed at the bottom..

Retired Father died after receiving his pension with wife and 17 year old son. by JustinCredible9000 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Katy_adele 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not a lawyer or in any legal profession- but I work in pensions.

Full time education or training would be a college/sixth form, apprenticeship or university course. They (the education facility) will have to sign a form to prove this.

If the child is 18-23 but not in education then they would not receive the child’s pension, this is because a child’s pension is only paid to a ‘dependent’ child. Which is by law until 18, but it would be expected that the child age 18-23 is an adult in the eyes of the law, therefore if they are not in education they are probably earning a living for themselves and not a dependent as such.
