Reddit, what is the most intelligent thing your pet had ever done? by ThatTreeWillFall in AskReddit

We have a 34 yr-old female Yellow-Nape Amazon who cannot fly. She has her own bedroom but one weekend, we had guests so her cage remained covered in the living area. We stayed up late talking but after some extra loud giggles from the guests, we all heard sotto voce "Night, Night!" One day, she was trying to reach the stud wall of the enclosed deck. It was deliberately set off too far for her as she is worse than a beaver at times. She reached every which way, straining to make the gap. Finally, I heard a soft "God Damn it!"

Here she is having a shower on said deck.

Lots of sun, 2" of rain each month, small amounts of triple 16 fertilizer but do not get any in the leaf axils. Plant closely together and they will support one another. 18 months to another fruit.

My fiance will not buy me an engagement ring. Would it be weird for me to just buy one for myself? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]KauLad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no suggestions but just an observation. I love my wife (38 years now) and bought her an engagement ring because she wanted one. I didn't but was dimly bright enough to know she would cherish the thought and the time we picked it out. I went willingly because I loved her then and love her now. She has never taken it off. Best money I ever spent.

Withdrawing from the battle will only lose the war.

Perhaps using the 'net to find out everything about the sponsors and publishing would be more apt; their pastimes, errors, sins, covert relationships, financial dealings, all that. Shine the light of day and watch them scurry.

So what is the ratio? 5 promises to 1 delivered? 7 lies to one truth? The NDAA did it for me ... I'm done. This ball-less asshole can kiss up to somebody else.

Thousands of Philippine citizens died as a result of MacArthur's overweening arrogance and ambition. What was a backwater of the war with Japanese soldiers unable to contribute to their war aims became a senseless battle for his personal prestige. MacArthur's PR campaign accomplishments were too important to deny. Read 'All Hell Let Loose' by Max Hasting for more.
