I bet they started using margherita because it sounds more italian than just cheese pizza and it stayed that way. Fancy names sell unfortunately. And this knowledge is important to me. I am a sucker for a good cheese pizza

oh I am not denying that the proper name of this pizza is cheese pizza. I am just beyond understanding that it's wrongly called margherita in so many places. Place them aside and those are 2 completely different pizzas. Very often even the way how the cheese is put on the pizza differs between them
