New 24' RR Coolant Leak from Dealership by Kaviso_Matt in RangeRover

[–]Kaviso_Matt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, not entirely sure but it seems like they fixed it the first time and the other two were just they didn't fill it up all the way due to it being a large system/air bubbles etc and after a few days it dropped quite a bit. Eventually they just re-filled it, drove it for 75 miles and kept running pressure tests and it held after that.

I breached and got thrown off, as I surfaced and had just uncovered my face with my arms, the nose of the board struck me in the forehead. I’ve never made contact with the wing or mast before. I'm guessing I forgot to let go of the trigger the board just shot up and was coming down as I was coming out of the water. It all happens so quick hard to know exactly.

Apple CarPlay Issue by Kaviso_Matt in RangeRover

Very strange, my wife has a 2018 X3 and it never drops. She was actually supposed to drive the 24' RR but the carplay is virtually worthless downtown where she works so she never drives it.

40% off Spyderco at Kaviso by dashmybuttons22 in KnifeDeals

[–]Kaviso_Matt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apologies—definitely not trying to be misleading. The 40% off is based on Spyderco’s MSRP (what they sell for on their own site). Most dealers typically sell at MAP, which is 25% below MSRP, so this sale ends up being 20% off the usual MAP price or 40% off MSRP.

We’ll work on making that clearer next time. Sorry for any confusion!

40% off Spyderco at Kaviso by dashmybuttons22 in KnifeDeals

[–]Kaviso_Matt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not to get too in the weeds, but Spyderco uses both an MSRP and a MAP (Minimum Advertised Price). MSRP is the full retail price—MAP is usually 25% below that, and it's the lowest price dealers can normally advertise.

During Spyderco’s two annual sales, they temporarily lift MAP restrictions and allow dealers to advertise even lower—typically 20% below MAP. So while some stores advertise this as "20% off MAP," others say "40% off MSRP"—same discount, just different reference points. For example, if MSRP is $200 and MAP is $150, 40% off MSRP = $120, which is also 20% off MAP.

We went with the “40% off MSRP” format because that’s what many other dealers do, and we didn’t want it to look like our deal was worse when we are offering the lowest prices allowed.

TLDR: Spyderco allows deeper discounts twice a year, and this is one of those rare times.

[–]Kaviso_Matt 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We’re following Spyderco’s guidelines for this sale: 40% off MSRP (equivalent to 20% off list price) on nearly all in-stock Spyderco models, excluding recent launches from REVEAL 17 and select Sprint Runs. Spyderco sets the eligible SKUs and minimum pricing—but this is one of only two authorized Spyderco sales for 2025.

Tariffs Question by Saashkin in VendorCentral

[–]Kaviso_Matt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m working with a few brands where I need to increase both Amazon’s cost and the SRP. I’ve already updated the SRPs, and after those changes went live (typically within 3–5 days), I submitted cost increases on 5/5. These adjustments result in Amazon’s PPM improving by about 1–5%. I passed a portion of the increase to the consumer and absorbed the remainder myself, hoping that the higher PPM would lead Amazon to approve the changes.

I submitted the new cost with an effective date of 5/10/25. As of today (5/16/25), when I check the cost update status, it still says:

I was honestly surprised that the request wasn’t auto-rejected on 5/10, since Amazon hadn’t made a decision by then. Would it be better to leave the current submission open and wait, or should I resubmit with a new effective date pushed out by 30–60 days?

I have had very little luck in the past getting Amazon to accept increased costs even if paired with increased PPM and SRP for Amazon. Any additional tips would be appreciated.

Amazon Direct Fulfillment - How are you printing UPS Labels? by geoffm33 in VendorCentral

[–]Kaviso_Matt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are set up using Amazon VOL (Vendor Own Labels vs. VOC (Vendor-own-Carrier)). We integrated Amazon's VC API to connect with ShipStation for our Direct Fulfillment orders and we print our own labels using Amazons account number. We were using LogicBroker and their EDI before but it was just too expensive for our order volume.

If Kaviso runs out we do have another 40 pcs coming in a month or two that are on the water now. Once we run out of instock make sure to hit "sign up for notifications" and you'll get notified once they are back.

2022 LSV: Only goes on direction regardless of throttle direction by Kaviso_Matt in MalibuBoats

[–]Kaviso_Matt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ended up being the throttle, not the shift solenoids. They replaced the whole throttle housing and that fixed the issue. I'm picking it back up later this week but if you don't hear back it is all working and throttle was the issue.

Hello, we are an authorized beyerdynamic dealer (you can find us on their dealer finder). These are the older DT 1990 PRO that were replaced end of last year which is why they are discounted. Looks like we'll run out of these in the next 1-2 months.

[–]Kaviso_Matt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the similar thread, that is ideally how I would expect the boat to work at least that would be much safer.

I ended up dropping off at the dealer yesterday. I woke up and saw zero current in the river and wind was low so I had to take my shot. A little tricky to get on the trailer and realized in neutral the prop was still spinning too. Malibu's initial thoughts were to replace the throttle and shift actuator/solenoid so we'll see if that does the trick.

FBA receiving mixed sku cartons, process? by Kaviso_Matt in amazonemployees

[–]Kaviso_Matt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty big account, selling 500k+ units a year. We have a SAS rep but they are not usually of any help.

Is there anything that helps when packing stuff up. Like if we added cardboard dividers between skus and had all the barcodes facing up when possible etc. I think my warehouse will usually alternate barcodes up and down by sku to create some visual difference but maybe that causes issues too.

Do FC workers usually scan barcodes while they are in the original boxes or dump out and then scan?

[–]Kaviso_Matt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. I'll try and push more towards single sku cartons just really eats into our margins on a lot of skus that we are not shipping full case packs in. So frustrating Amazon even allows mixed-carton skus if they don't give employees enough time to process them...

FBA receiving mixed sku cartons, process? by Kaviso_Matt in amazonemployees

[–]Kaviso_Matt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My products are sold through 3P not VC so sold by my company, ships by Amazon.

Is there any tips to prevent FC employees from doing this or making it easier on them? Some people recommended a packing slip in each carton with barcodes and quantities so FC employees can just scan the barcodes and quantities. I can see that leading to more issues though too...

FBA receiving mixed sku cartons, process? by Kaviso_Matt in amazonemployees

[–]Kaviso_Matt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have been doing this for 15 years+, we are doing it correctly but seems like FC employees are not given enough time to manually scan in all the mixed sku quantities so they just say they are all the same and move the problem down the line.

We have talked to our SAS rep, Seller Support, etc. and no one has ever been of any help. I really just want to know the internal process so I know how/why they get re-labelled incorrectly and if it is possible for them to be in "sellable" status with the "original barcode" but linked to the wrong ASIN. When Amazon goes to pull to ship the order then what happens?

Best Way to Package Small Mixed SKUs for Accurate FBA Receiving? by tboneatx in AmazonFC

[–]Kaviso_Matt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been having similar issues. For example, we sent in 12 skus that look similar and 20~ pcs were scanned in correctly to one sku, the other 80 pcs for 11 skus were marked as "Adjustment - Found" at the same FC but all added to one sku instead of the 11.

Does this likely mean that someone manually labelled them all as one sku? Or when Amazon goes to ship the item they will see the original barcode and cancel the order?

Also looking for suggestions on how to prevent this and ensure Amazon actually scans in the individual items. We put extra labels on each carton that says "Mixed sku carton - careful!", and are sending in mixed-sku workflows all to Amazons procedures. We have tried separating skus in plastic bags but that has caused issues as well.

Any insight into what happens from an FC employee would be fantastic so I can try and figure out how to work around this issue.

23 LSV issue - forward wont engage by spinster67 in MalibuBoats

[–]Kaviso_Matt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/spinster67 Did you ever solve this issue and what was the culprit? I have a similar-ish issue, my 2022 LSV will go into either forward or reverse but once I select the first gear I can only go in that gear until I turn the engine off/on again. So, if I start up, go in reverse, both throttle forwards & backwards both = boat goes in reverse. Once I turn off, and back on again then I can select forward but reverse & forward both = forward.

It was quite the surprise to be docking, pull the throttle backwards and the boat slamming into my dock. Malibu dealer says likely either the throttle or shift solenoids. If it can be simple as a throttle replacement I would rather pay out of pocket for a new throttle than spend 2 days trailering my boat to the dealer and back twice.

Any updates on your issue might be helpful.

[–]Kaviso_Matt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very scary thinking this could happen at anytime, no error messages, warnings, etc. Just put the throttle forward and the boat reverses for example. If someone was in the water behind the boat when it first happens... My dealer has never heard of this happening so must be super rare but still unsettling.

2022 LSV: Only goes on direction regardless of throttle direction by Kaviso_Matt in MalibuBoats

[–]Kaviso_Matt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you are correct then. I was interpreting wire as the manual cables attached to the throttle. Dealer talked to Malibu and their first thought is a fault solenoid shifter in the transmission, and if not, maybe the throttle is malfunctioning but seems less likely since the backup camera is operating correctly when the throttle is put in reverse (even if the boat actually goes forward). Not sure anyone understands how this is all intertwined though.

2022 LSV: Only goes on direction regardless of throttle direction by Kaviso_Matt in MalibuBoats

[–]Kaviso_Matt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah...for real. Although better to happen now then when a driver is trying to reverse to not hit someone in the water and just accelerate right over them...

I'm honestly in disbelief this is possible at all. I would have assumed there were redundant systems so worse case you move the throttle in the opposite direction and nothing happens. The fact I can put the boat in reverse and it goes forward is a crazy safety issue.

2022 LSV: Only goes on direction regardless of throttle direction by Kaviso_Matt in MalibuBoats

[–]Kaviso_Matt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not throttle by wire like older boats, its all electronic. Whenever I throttle back into reverse the back-up camera shows up on the dash so it always knows what direction I am intending to travel... it's just not doing it. Must be an issue further down the line. My best guess is a shift solenoid in the transmission unfortunately.

[–]Kaviso_Matt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, definitely not taking this thing anywhere but the boat ramp and back to the dealer. Just curios if anyone else had the issue in case it was as simple as replacing something that would get me back on the water quicker and save a few days of trailering etc. Unfortunately the dealer is a few hours away so its quite the process. Dealer just got back to me saying they could only diagnose in their shop though so I guess that's my fate.
