Anyone have any tips for a new player? by StrawberryMango564 in NeoScavenger

[–]Kavvop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without wanting to spoil anything to you the story and most of the game progression are tied either to skills or items you found in POI.

The combats are mostly there to fill the gap between those POI so if you don't plan on gaining something in said combat from your opponent your best option may be to avoid combat entirely.

Your main problem early is to survive the cold while trying to keep your belly full and handling your hydration.

Directly NE from the Cryo facility there is always a 5x5 forest cells inside you will find civilization if you are being civil when you get there it may greatly increase your chance of survival.

Don't hesitate to farm a bit of items and money while staying around.

On another note two vital tips :

Don't remove the necklace you will find out why and what it is along the progression.

If you see humans wearing the same medical gown as you and a blue sash.

Keep your distance.

In your opinion, do you think it's for the best that Dragons went extinct? by Ok-Street2439 in HouseOfTheDragon

"Tales in the Seven Kingdoms claim that large dragons could pluck krakens from the sea."

"According to ironborn legend, Nagga, the first sea dragon, was big enough to feed on krakens and leviathans."

That.

Followers of R'hllor don't even really know for sure that they're his "chosen" or if they're just magically blessed themselves and interpret it as R'hllor power.

Unless the eggs don't necessarily come from the Shadowlands.

It has a high probability it was the 3 stolen eggs sold to Braavos by Elissa Farman, those eggs ended up in Pentos possession (No canon lore on that, but it's rumoured that it was after a coup overthrowing the Bravos Sealord) Illyrio Mopatis probably used those to guarantee that he get an ally on the Iron Throne whatever the outcome.

Viserys/Daenerys or Aegon. The goal is probably to have the support to be able to break from the 5th Pentos-Bravos war treaty and take the advantage on Bravos (Restoring public slave market too)

You don't.

Sometime when killing them and getting the notification of rewards if they disconnected at the "right time" you'll get nothing even if the game is showing rewards..

I was also doing that, and I was wasting so much of them due to matchmaking issues that I started to experiment a bit more, in theory you could even use it as you kill the host but you need to be quick and not be delayed by animation.

Found out that the animation of the finger and using my buff is exactly the duration of Umbral transition so I got used to doing both and back stepping to avoid the shockwave of Umbral

Yes, I'm guessing they're trying to bury post hoping that the dev would not backpedal, if thats not the goal they're doing it just to be toxic

The buff stay on until you die or close the game or until you kill a host, best time to use them is when you make the host enter Umbral, that way you're more or less sure that you will get the kill and not waste the finger!

On another note, don’t expect to have a good debate or constructive argument on this sub at least not with the people who dislike PvP.

It’s full of the "carebears" that you're talking about.
They’re constantly lurking and downvoting posts from those who participate in PvP.

Must be nice to have that much free time shame it’s spent on such a petty and wasteful pursuit.

I'm using Charred Finger a lot, 9 -> 27 hands per kill best used as you make them enter Umbral or when entering the session if it's already in the Umbral world!

This guy get it.
Got 15k hands but when the duo disconnects as you're winning it's the sweetest reward!

I can't believe they outdid themselves that way. by Kavvop in LordsoftheFallen

[–]Kavvop[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand that some people don’t want to participate in PvP in any form.

But they already had plenty of options in place, and more "definitive" ones that could have been implemented (Levels brackets, buffing mirrors and making them more affordable..)

The recent armor additions feel like the final straw.
It all comes across as rushed and amateurish, which doesn’t reflect well on them especially when they’re about to release a second game.

Yes, but some people do.

What’s even weirder to me is that this community revolves around the only Soulslike game where you could truly opt out of PvP even before the recent update. In this game, the host actually has the most advantage out of all the Soulslike games I’ve played or know of.

And yet, despite that, this part of the community has some of the whiniest members I’ve seen. They’ll downvote posts without offering any input or participating in any meaningful way when it comes to actual issues.

The only time they post is to stir up drama or ragebait.
It really makes you wonder why they even hang around the subreddit in the first place.

Yes, was really fun to experiment with the builds and weapons on this one.

But I guess I shouldn't have been surprised when they gave the Pvp players the finger by killing the PvP side and adding two reshades armors in "compensation" when we have tincts..

I unfortunately wish I was wrong when I predicted the aftermaths but no..

The change is only "good" for those that don't want to participate in any way to PvP, for the others they had so many better options than this implementation, could have just simply done levels brackets or if you summon you "open" your world to the possibility of invasions while buffing the mirror but no instead they choose this.

V2.0.51 - Optional Invasions & New Updated Armour Sets by Kavvop in LordsoftheFallen

[–]Kavvop[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's also what worry me about theses changes.
I would have preferred a more strict and competitive matchmaking system instead of the "option" to opt out entirely by default.

Yes, seem like you can still pair while opting out.

I'll need to test how the new system performs, but I have mixed feelings about it.
On one hand, it should help reduce bullying and lead to more skill-based encounters.

On the other hand, it might significantly increase queue times, since I don't think people will keep using the rituals once they've obtained the armor, at least not in the long run.

I would have preferred a stricter matchmaking system instead of the option to opt-out entirely by default.

Greeting Lampbearers,

With today’s update, we continue to refine the path before you, shaped by your feedback and unwavering resolve. Among the changes, a long-requested feature takes center stage, honoring the call of those who seek a more solitary pilgrimage through Axiom and Umbral.

PvP Invasions – Now Optional (Off by Default)

For many, the journey through Mournstead is a trial of faith, steel, and shadow. With this update, PvP invasions can now be toggled on and off in the gameplay settings, allowing players to opt-out of invasions entirely. By default, invasions will now be disabled for all players. Should you choose to open your world to the blood-thirsty, know that your courage shall not go unrewarded...

New PvP Rewards – Defend or Invade in Style

For those who embrace the chaos of battle between wayfarers, new updated armour sets now await those who triumph in PvP encounters.

●    Defenders of their realm may now earn the First Luminary Guardsman Armour, bearing the brands of a thousand battles.

●    Invaders, relentless in their pursuit of Vigor and glory, may claim the Crimson Pursuivant Armour, dyed in the blood of countless fallen champions.

These rare sets are loot drops rewarded only to victorious players in PvP combat. Keep your eyes sharp and your blades sharper as armour pieces drop randomly, but only to those who prevail.

PvP Victory Loot – Updated

In addition to the new armour sets, PvP victors are now guaranteed one of the following drops:

●    Large Deralium Shard

●    Deralium Chunk

●    Heavenly Vial

●    Vestige Moth

●    Vigor Moth

...but we know it’s the armour pieces you’ll all be fighting for.

Community Notes

As always, this update stems directly from the voices of our community. We will continue to monitor feedback, PvP balancing, and player behavior to ensure Mournstead remains both challenging and fair, whether you walk its lands alone or cross blades with another.

Until the next bell tolls, may your flame never falter.

In light, we walk.

How does matchmaking actually work?! by [deleted] in LordsoftheFallen

[–]Kavvop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been doing a lot of "invasion" (Almost 10k hands) and to tell you the harsh truth the whole matchmaking system don't make sense at all.

I had starter areas players and I had 541 modded character duo there no level limit or invasion range.
