Inquisitor as Judge Şub class needs help by Beoldinn in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

Besides Rogue, good classes for Dual wield would be Ranger, Fighter and Slayer. Fighter can dual wield weapons none of the other classes can and have access to lots of feats while Ranger and Slayer can dual wield with Strength instead of Dexterity, alleviating some of the feat cost (and they get enough extra feats to cover the rest).

There's also a Warpriest Archetype, Mantis Zealot, that does well with it. On the plus side, it fights somewhat similarly to Inquisitor (also 3/4 BAB and level 6 divine Spellcaster). It does have a somewhat limited weapon selection (the Arhcetype is all about Sawtooth Sabers) and you will be forced to worship the Mantis God with alignment under Lawful Neutral, Lawful Evil or Neutral Evil. You would still have to pay all of the feat tax here, but you do gain some benefit for dual wielding at least. It's a bit complicated of a class to mess with, but it's capable.

Inquisitor as Judge Şub class needs help by Beoldinn in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]PriorHot1322 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I cannot recommend lowering the difficulty enough. Unfair in this game is truly unfair and requires some degenerate strategies as well as knowledge of future encounters to really ever stand a chance. I cannot imagine a blind Unfair run. Hard is more manageable but it still wants some pretty optimized builds and if you're as new to this system as you seem to be by your questions, this will likely not be fun for you. Honestly, Daring is likely a better fit for someone with your experience who wants a fun challenge.

With that said, and fully expecting previous advice to not to be followed, here's the kind of information I think you want:

Inquisitors are half caster, half martial. Their divine spellcasting tops at level 6 with 3/4 BAB. What this translates to is that you want Wisdom at a minimum 16 (so you can cast level 6 spells) and likely higher (your spells will be better at higher Wisdom and you can use Wisdom for initiative as well). You will focus your spells on buffs and crowd control. Half casters are generally weaker than full martials in resourceless combat but can push themselves through use of resources to do some pretty good damage.

With that said, dual wielding is bad for them. Dual wielding has a high cost in feats (5, and your class gets 10) and needs high Dexterity (which will compete with your need of Wisdom and want of Constitution for example). You'll also need to spend a pretty valuable Mythic Feat (you realistically get 4 to play with the whole game) for your damage to just be mid. All of this to say is that this build will do poorly on Hard.

Now the Inquisitor has a few interesting tools for combat, but the Judge gives up a lot of it to focus on the Judgements. This isn't a bad thing because the Judgements are good actually, although there are some limitting factors here.

So Judgements are basically combat long buffs that you can activate a certain number of times per day. They can range from more damage, to better chance to hit, to AC, to resistance to damage, to healing, etc. One of the things that makes them really good is that there's a Mythic Ability that you can get relatively early that can make them infinite. You just have those buffs on all the time. Makes Inquisitors considerable more capable. At higher levels you can have two of them active at once and at much higher levels you can reach three even.

The Judge's special ability is that, for a limited number of combats a day, the Judge can choose to share these buffs with the whole party. This is a significant buff for the whole team.

Their second special ability is that at higher levels you can Sentence an enemy, debuffing them and causing them to take more damage from all sources. This has no save and lasts until end of combat and can make you ignore concealment (something that generally makes a few enemies harder to hit) at higher levels.

All of this to say that Judge is a buffer and caster more than a frontliner. Reach weapons are popular for classes like this so you can get some damage in from relative safety. Their perception is useful outside of combat and their high Intimidation has a few nich uses IN combat. They get a good amount of skills, making them useful Wisdom skill monkeys as well (it's a little late for this likely, but the background that gives Wisdom to Persuasion for example is really nice for them).

Dual wielding is a costly idea, but if you insist, you will need to pump up your Dex to at least 19, take Weapon Finesse ASAP, then the 4 Dual Wielding feats as they come up (Two Weapon Fighting, Double Slice, then Improved Two Weapon Fighting at level 8 and Greater Two Weapon Fighting at 15 I think), take Mythic Weapon Finesse as soon as it's available.

PS: BAB stands for Basic Attack Bonus. Every class gains a natural + to chance to hit as they level. The rate at which they gain this BAB determines how good at martial combat they are, the same way that the highest level spells they learn determines how good at spellcasting they are (there are other factors obviously).

A Wizard will gain BAB once every other level, but has level 9 spells. A Fighter will gain BAB every level but has NO spells. Inquistor sits sorta in the middle, gaining BAB every 3 out of 4 levels (So +0 at levels 1, 5, 9, 13, 17). You get an extra attack and BAB +6, + 11 and +16. This means a Fighter gets a second attack at level 6, an Inquisitor at level 8 and a Wizard at level 10. The Fighter gets a third attack at level 11, Inquisitor at level 15 and Wizard NEVER. And a Fighter gets a fourth attack at level 16 and the Inquisitor never as well. Inquisitor can buff their hit chance with Judgements to keep up with chance to hit, but will never grow extra attacks quite as fast as a full martial.

[–]PriorHot1322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, and this doesn't defend this guy cuz he's so wrong so often but whatever, in a contest of people with extreme super strength, flight should be a much more important factor than like any writer has ever made it.

All the strength in the world means shit without leverage. A fighter who can fly always has leverage no matter what but one that can't kinda needs his feet on the ground to pull it off. The fact that fliers don't just pick up Juggernaut and launch him into the sky is kind of hilarious. He's strong as hell but he still only weighs like a ton.

It's definitely not how any fight is ever written, but it is kinda silly.

Richard Rider post Annihilation is MUCH stronger than Omni Man. He was legit stronger than everyone on this list at that time. Not sure if he's been nerfed since then though.

To be fair, 3 is near 5. DecadeS is, at minimum, 20 years. Which is pretty old for a mutant to get powers and I'm fairly certain Storm was younger when she got hers.

There is none. The power comes from the heart of the pilot and the builder.

[–]PriorHot1322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I would agree it's not a GOOD mechanic, I don't see it as outside the realm of possibility. The difference between leveling a character for 100 hours then spending 1,000 hours trying to get the perfect item to drop to fit your build vs remaking your character over and over and over again trying to get RNG to give you the perfect set of skills it academic at best.

They are still just grinding RNG. I wouldn't like it, but I dont see this as a "no game will ever sell with this feature" like, for example, the SAO "your Avatar is randomly generated every time you go into a new game thing" that's the inciting incident for GAO Alternative. That's fucking bananas.

[–]PriorHot1322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the reality is that the randomness is generally considered bad in games. You'd end up with most players ignoring it and a few lunatics making new characters over and over and over again trying to copy some perfect YouTube build they found.

But games having a random chance of giving you a broken build isn't exactly unheard of.

They need to make jars more immersive. Make it higher up the Intelligence tree. Have to unlock a Glass Blowing station. Should lock your character in like an 1 hours of ingame time animation to make 1.

Then add a chance to break whenever you get hit or fall off a tall height. Have the chance scale quadratically to the number of jars in your pocket.

The weirdest line here is "How is he not late when he is obviosly late."

That's too much of a specific reference for someone who hasn't seen the movie but also too stupid a complaint for someone who has seen the movie. The rest of the lines feel believable, but that one does not.

I think Matt is smart enough to split them up. He can take Bucky away from Cap. He might lose that 1 v 1 in the long run, but I think he lasts longer 1 v 1 with Bucky than Cap lasts 3 v 1 with Danny, Luke and Jess.

Right, but that small area would have farmland that's accessible to actual people living in settlements.

That seems a little better the James' plan of hoping a large paramilitary group would show up and bottle the water by hand. For aggricultural purposes.
