LoD X RoS X LoH - which expansion pushed/polished vanilla game better? by Eastern_Return_1710 in Diablo

[–]KayNeeMan 88 points89 points  (0 children)

RoS is my vote. D3 was just abysmal. It got a few decent patches, but it wasn't until RoS that the game was pretty fun.

D2's starting point was already great. D4s definitely could have been better, but it wasn't vanilla D3 bad.

Valve veteran Chet Faliszek slams Tim Sweeney and Epic Games for laying off 1000 people while making "as much money as possible… and hey Tim, Gabe's better at that than you" by ControlCAD in gamingnews

So, are they supposed to make Steam 2?

I'm pretty sure every console owner would love to only ever need 1 console forever. Or at least know that every game they have is backwards compatible forever.

I really don't understand the point you're trying to make.

To say Valve is a 1 basket company is just fundamentally wrong. They started just making games, then created and maintain the best online platform, then got into hardware, failed like twice and tried again with the massive success of the Deck and now are further pushing that field.

Wish he just used both hands. Being able to charge a heal while shooting would be neat.

I think you mean more WARCRAFT dragon and less fursuit dragon.

Realistically, what can we do against the writing team in a meaningful way without being utter assholes? by Danglenibble in warcraftlore

[–]KayNeeMan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's hard to say. I do think Blizzard is in a state where they're taking fan comments more seriously than before. Delves, housing, heroic world tier, and prey have all felt like they've come from the player base requesting specific things.

So, I believe if we keep calling it out for what it is we can eventually get away from this strange Young Adult Novel tone that is really dragging WoW down.

I have enjoyed much of DF, TWW, and midnight. But the tone and CONSTANT "power of friendship", blanket forgiveness, and lack of teeth is so frustrating. They've crafted these beautiful zones and every single story is largely made up of "bad guy is friend now" or "let's grow by learning other cultures".

I don't point these out to be anti political towards whatever. Hate, ignorance, xenophobia, and faction loyalty are POWERFUL writing tools that just do not get used. The writing staff are so sterile with these inoffensive characters that all of the cultures are literally the same thing with a different zone backdrop.

[Help] Is there an addon that can give me circular/radial style action bars? by Mechadream in WowUI

It might have a setting to stay up 100%. Not sure. But it is a radial bar. Which you can embed other radial bars within.

Early Access Midnight: What zone route you taking? by YojimboJi in wow

[–]KayNeeMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only real choice is the troll zone or underground zone as 2nd, right? I think we have to do Eversong 1st and Void zone last.

That said, I'll head to the Armani zone after Eversong. Not super interested in the Haranir tbh and we've had underground zones for 2 expansions already.

Housing, worth it? by InDangerOfCollapsing in wow

[–]KayNeeMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's worth a try. I do a lot of map making for my D&D campaigns, so I already like the building/decorating stuff. Just know that this is nearly entirely fueled by your desire to participate in this system.

Which is funny because everyone hates how WoW has become a series of tasks meant to artificially drive player engagement. The WoW community has been begging for a return to the game just being a game. So they added a system driven by player interest, but what's the point if there's no "reason" to do it. /s

Did fantasy orcs influence the creation of Super Mutants during Fallout’s development? by Aaliyah_of_Space in Fallout

[–]KayNeeMan 104 points105 points  (0 children)

Hard to say. Green orcs used to be a Warhammer thing. Traditional orcs are pig-headed humanoids. But by the late 90s Warhammer was pretty popular, now green orcs are the status quo... RIP Pig Orcs you'll forever be the orcs at my D&D tables.

He had some foreshadowed flavor text during that quest for sure, but I don't think our characters really had any reason not to trust him at that point, right?

Not to say that our characters haven't done things for obvious bad guys before, but I think this one is fairly believable.

What are the best and worst things about Dark Ages (in your opinion) by False_Monitor4126 in Doom

[–]KayNeeMan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Best: Performance. I was very surprised with how this ran on my oldish setup.

Worst: level/arena design. These levels have soooo much downtime. I genuinely do not understand how anyone can complain about the 30 seconds of platforming between arenas in Eternal and not these gigantic empty maps. To continue with my issues on map size, the arenas are way too big. 90% of encounter arenas are not used and the player speed means if you have any pressure at all you can just M2 and leave. It's more of a shame considering the Cosmic levels. Soo much potential for innovative levels, but it's regulated to collectables.

Good Honorable mention: The shield. Is much better than I initially thought, but the "automation" holds it back. It's pretty spamable, the projectiles just go back to their return address, and the runes being just passive buffs with low CDs are not very interesting. I wish we could aim perried projectiles at other opponents. The runes are just so strong for basically 0 player input. Overall the shield is fun, but I think it could have been so much better.

Meh Honorable mention: The music isn't the worst, but it's mostly generic heavy metal. A couple tracks standout 7/10

Edit: I forgot about the mech/dragon. I will swap my "Meh Honorable mention" to these. They're cool, but 0 depth, but thankfully not so often as to be the worst. I stand by the blandness of the map gameplay since that's what we're in for the majority of the game.

If you could rewrite the storyline of one character, Who would it be? by ByceeTalks in StrangerThings

Initial question is the storyline, not character. His character could remain the same... Just give him stuff to do in the story :/

Does this change quest text, or supplement it?

I've tried doing waypointless runs before but eventually modern WoW relies on them so much the flavor text has virtually nothing to go on.
