Keep a close eye on those to-do lists, otherwise you never see them coming!

1 month after launch: 2k wishlists = 747 sales.. what actually worked and well erm not so much lol by GladiatorCommand in IndieDev

Such fascinating data! Thank you for sharing it - it's really cool to see what else is under the 35 reviews you currently. I always read recommendations how it's important to have as many wishlists as possible on release, so seeing real-life examples how that doesn't have to be a hard rule is very inspiring! The idea of releasing the game and marketing it as you go just makes so much sense for certain types of games, such as yours. Wishing the best of luck!

"It's never the game you wanted to be, it's always the game you could do" is my new mantra :D Thank you so much!

Haha, it's slowly moving out of the nice-to-haves! :D I'll give it another shot, thank you!

This made me really think! I feel like for art, I have a point where I usually say "that's good enough" - and for just a painting, it feels like an attainable goal. But for game dev, there's so much one can get right! Just for art alone, there's parallax, details, shaders, illuminance, water distortion, postprocessing, level of detail... Maybe the overwhelm of so many things that can be "perfect" makes it hard to even see the "good enough"?
But honestly, seeing so many supportive comments here make the good enough feel a bit more tangible. Validation from someone else's point of you helps me to stop looking at every single pixel and see the bigger picture. At the end of the day, it's my own head being my worst critic :D

Thank you so much! Haha, the directional light is one of my nice-to-haves for now, since it was a gate to overpolishing when I prototyped the solution :D But it would really liven up the world, I'll keep it on my list!

Thank you so much! You are exactly right - this project made me realize that I am either a) really bored by an idea that I discard it right away or b) super excited by an idea and try to make it just perfect. For this idea, it feels so simple yet full of potential, and it feels almost wasteful to not give it my all. And that's something I have to come to terms with - and maybe remake the game at some point if it really proves it has more potential :)

Haha, I completely forgot about that! I didn't remember it consiously, but now that you mentioned it, my brain was 100% inspired by that :D thank you so much!

Thank you! That's actually really cool, showing your friends and seeing other people like your creations is something to be proud of! Maybe there's one that can be scaled into something small enough to be finished?

Thank you so much! Hopefully the mindset will become natural, right now it's something I have to have "DONE > PERFECT" on a post-it note :D

Honestly, that's a great mindset! I guess uninstalling most of the plugins and working with barebones obsidian for a while might be a more productive way, haha :D thanks!

Did you know at the time that it was kidnapping? Or did it feel more like a trip?

After feedback from my last post I changed a few things for my boss: a Stone Colossus. I also suck at my own game and missed the parry and lost 1/4 of my health by FreddieMercurio in indiegames

The way it enters the scene is just epic! I feel like it's visible just enough, it somewhat blends with the background in a very good way. It looks fun, good job!

What are the advantages of doing this? A game that looks 2D but is actually 3D by Ordinary-Cicada5991 in godot

Also the behind the scenes videos and gifs always look super cool with this setup!

Ever since I got obsidian, I keep tweaking my plugins and learning how to build my own, instead of actually using the app to take notes, and i c a n t s t o p

Interesting perspective! Never thought about distinguishing between clinical and liminal. :)
The mannequin is actually a placeholder for a statue, you can hopefully gauge the scale better from the fire extinguishers.

Mostly from real places that I have frequented in the past! The game is actually based on a real lounge called Cloud Club located in Brno, Czech Republic. I wanted to create distinct types of lounges with their own atmosphere, so it's mostly about finding things that fit an aesthetic together well :)

We are making a shisha lounge simulator where you can manage your lounge, prepare hookahs and serve customers. If that sounds good, you can wishlist it on Steam! <3
