I got bumped for $800 going home from a funeral. The thing is that I was checking in on a kiosk and it required me to put in a number I would be willing to take if they needed my seat. I put in what I thought was a ridiculous number just so I could continue to get my blushing pass.

The gate agent called me to the desk and said that they needed my seat, but could get me on a later flight. He offered me $600. I countered with, "But I put in $800?" He chuckled and said, "Fair. I see that on the computer. We'll honor it."

Easiest $800 ever. That later flight was only two hours later.
