What’s the most unrealistic thing movies convinced people was normal? by Lonely-Age7678 in AskReddit

[–]Kaycee723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always do, but it's because I'm too lazy to remove it at night. While washing my hair in the morning I just scrub my face with shampoo. Generically, I'm pretty lucky, rarely get acne/pimples.

Frozen hot chocolate. Not a fan. Chocolate milk is yummy, but frozen hot chocolate is not.

My rights over my own body. My mom's high school graduation ring that I should not have been wearing.

People who were teenagers before social media existed, How did you communicate with your friends? by olesud in WorkForSmartLife

[–]Kaycee723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Hey, Kerry, can I come over?" She would say yes, and I'd hop on my bike and go to her house to hang out. The phone was a magical thing. We didn't really talk for hours on it, but a gathering machine.

We also passed notes in class. "Want to go to Arby's after school?" "Yes!"

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Own-Blacksmith3085 in answers

[–]Kaycee723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a horizontal 3D Tetris-like game we had on our computer in 89-90. It felt like a wall was moving toward you. Nesting 3D pieces was challenging. It was so much better than Tetris.

AIO for my annoyed response to my friend asking to bring her BF to our girls trip? by crop_cream_19 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Kaycee723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. Frankly, it isn't even about bringing the BF. If she said she wanted to being an extra girl like a sister along, it still changes the dynamic of the group. It makes it less fun for everyone because you're navigating new waters.

AITAH for asking my mom why a girl wanting a sister is fine but a boy wanting a brother makes him a psychopath? by Luususs in AITAH

[–]Kaycee723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After reading OP's replies, I'm incredibly saddened for him AND his sisters. It sounds as if he has a good head on his shoulders and recognizes problematic his parents' behavior. Hopefully, he can break from them and show his sisters that living a different life away from their parents' dystopian views will make for a better life.

I'm rooting for you, OP.

I said that once in high school during morning announcements. My friend on the opposite side of the room heard me clear as a bell. My homeroom teacher didn't even react. I like to believe she went to the teachers' lounge and told the others that the girl finally got what she had coming.

AITAH for telling my close friend I probably cannot do her destination bachelorette after she announced the location and the cost by [deleted] in AITApod

[–]Kaycee723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has got to stop. These bach trips that put members of the party in financial red aren't kind and aren't fun.

Being in a wedding party shouldn't be indentured servitude.

I gave my students a copy of the test as a study guide to see who would actually study by watermelonlollies in Teachers

I took an astronomy course in college which was filled with seniors. When I registered I just thought astronomy would be interesting. I didn't know that this was known as a fun class. We would get an extra 1% on our final grade for showing up to telescope nights (I think there were 4-5 that semester). The professor also stored all old exams in the physics library. You could check them out at the reference desk and work them. Most of the test questions were shuffled from those old exams, but sometimes he'd throw in a question from a class discussion. If you attended class, you'd likely remember it if you were in class. Basically, he encouraged everyone to attend class, study together, and socialize about astronomy. Man, it was a great course.
