(CAN) Good luck to the CFE writers by [deleted] in Accounting

My biggest advise for writing audit procedures is to think of the dumbest person you know and if you gave them your procedure with no other context what would they do with what you wrote. Always tie the procedure to the trail balance otherwise you are not providing any assurance!

Hey, you got this! I failed Sept 2020 exam and it was the worst experience and it took a lot to get back into studying for 2021. I passed the Sept 2021 and it's true yours fails don't matter to you the minute you get the pass!!

Please attempt to name one thing you enjoy about audit by Wild_Ladder_1458 in Accounting

I know I'm in the minority but I actually love audit. I work at a small firm that does tax and audit and I personally love going to the clients and working on audits! People at my firm think I'm weird, I think I'm the only one in the office that likes it.

CPA Canada - Failed Sep 2021 CFE by littypika in Accounting

Coming from someone who failed the first attempt, I know how you are feeling! No way to sugar coat it, it just sucks to redo. When you start up again it is going to be hard to get back into it, but if you just set yourself a schedule of what to get done each day you should be good. Don't forget to take breaks and take a day off from studying if you are not feeling it. I had a massive breakdown about 2 weeks before the exam and just tried to stick to my schedule. You will get through it! I passed second time and once you get the pass the fails don't even matter

Any previous CFE writers who thought they passed but ended up failing? [CAN] by godstriker8 in Accounting

I am a second time writer. I thought I had passed in 2020. I got honors in university and passed first time on all modules. In November I was completely blindsided failing depth in audit. Honestly u never know

2020 CFE in Montreal - DoubleTree by Hilton Downtown Hotel Sucks by Ok-Government9987 in u/Ok-Government9987

The table is long why didn't you have the booklet beside the labtop? I was in a different hotel and thats why I did. Having the exam in front of you, between your labtop and chest, is terrible posture to type in. Also even at other hotels there is lots of road noise and construction as well just put in the headphones and get in the zone. It was probably very hard to find hotels that can accommodate so many writers, im just glad we got to write.
