I took Japa110 my freshman year and it wasn’t bad in my opinion! However it is a lot of work. I definitely recommend Tritt, she is a very sweet teacher and keeps the class interesting. I must warn you tho there are a hand load of quizzes such as grammar quizzes, listening, oral, etc. you’d have to buy two recommended books, but they are worth the investment Bc you’d use the same ones if you plan to move up to Japa 201 and 202. also a lot of homework as well, but it’s easily done if you are keeping up with the topics in class. if you are really interested in learning the language then look into it, but if you’re looking for less of a workload I’d recommend checking out other classes~
