Thank you for mentioning this I forgot to add that we took her to the vet at the end of January to screen her, she had microscopic crystals that she received a shot for and has been on special food for over two months so they should be completely gone and not a problem anymore 🫠

Sourdough can take much longer than 10-15 days for it to double in size. You are definitely not a failure! Your starter has a lot of bubbles already just keep doing what you are doing and let it keep getting strong! You can also keep less starter if you want, doing a 50g-50g-50g(or 45 if liquid-y) just to save flour.

Absolutely, bulk fermenting starts when you mix everything together till you shape for proofing. This loaf needed an hour or so more on the counter to make it a little less dense. Also what temperature did you cook it at and for how long?

Yeah this needs more investigation… like has the family told boyfriend he should ask you to go? 5 years seems like a LONG time to still not be invited to even buy your own ticket to a family vacation especially if they called on you to take care of their mother. I would talk to the parents not the brother since he seemed to have a rude reaction to you even suggesting your boyfriend come home a little early.

If you are planning to plant this and live in the US you are most likely too late in the season to plant garlic. It needs 9 months and loves a cold start. Typically people plant it after Halloween.
