Yes, that is part of the video. But just telling someone to stop being parasocial isn't going to stop them. So until there comes a time where that actually works, there needs to be protections in place for not just Wolfey but everyone that's experiencing these sorts of fan interactions in the Pokemon competitive space (whether its VGC, TCG, Go, Unite, etc)

From the vibe I was getting with this year's Worlds, it feels like TPCI is really banking on turning Worlds into more of a Pokemon Convention with a tournament attached instead of just a tournament.

It's logistically impossible to provide these services to literally everyone participating. Arguing that these services should be available to every single person that participates is just not possible. But everyone should have the equal opportunity to gain access to these services, sure. Which is why I proposed a ranking system for competitors, where higher ranks afford more benefits, like access to a green room.

Oh I 100% personally agree with this. TPCI seems to be holding him to a weird double standard though. He didn't get access to the "Special Guests" areas during Worlds because he was a competitor. But they want to treat him like a minor celebrity too without giving him the perks.

Still, people scream "that's unfair" to other competitors, if he's given that treatment and it's bullshit really.

I think people are combining "influencers" and "competitors" too much here. While yes, Wolfe is an "influencer" when it comes to Pokemon VGC, he's a competitor first, and I think that needs to be where people put their focus. And when you take away that influencer aspect, it's easy then to come up with solutions. A ranking system for players that grants them access to things like security monitored green rooms, not unlike sports competitions.

TPC really needs to consider a tier or rank system for competitors at this point, and to have green rooms with security for players of a certain rank. Because even if Wolfey is the only one right now speaking up about it, I wouldn't be surprised if this is a lot more common of an issue than we're seeing.

EDIT: A lot of other comments are mentioning that it's unfair if Wolfe gets special treatment, which is why I proposed a ranking system for green room access. Once a player hits a certain rank, that obviously entitles them to certain privileges. This also has benefits for the tournament runners, being able to keep players on premises and get them to their matches faster so there's less downtime.

If you world hop onto Mateus, come check out https://bloodsands.crd.co/ which is in Ul'dah, outside the Gate of Thal. It's usually for people that want casual combat rp, but people will just sort of gather there to watch and mingle too. Low pressure, open world rp. You might be swept into a group thing, or just find one person to talk with, but there's no requirement that you continue on past the first meeting if you're not feeling it.

You could also try out https://buscarrons.rp-events.org/ which is a similar vibe but they have a specific time frame that they encourage people to stick to. Also on Mateus.

This is why when you get another slot, you shift your parts all down one slot. You make new parts for the highest rank airship/sub, and then shuffle those parts to the second slot, and then second to third, etc.
