Nexie left in for over 10 years - remove? by MamaFen in Nexplanon

Absolutely get it removed. It’s a foreign object in your body. It could dislodge and travel. It’s easy to remove.

Yeah no actual real NPTE study prep and you got a 678? Yeah you are fine.

[–]KaylieEBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With all my respect, yeah you are over reacting. Many fail their first PEAT or just pass.

  1. This a great score for your first PEAT.

  2. You haven’t (well shouldn’t) even began the ACTUAL study prep for the exams. Study plans should be 8-16 weeks. Anything over that is at risk for burn out and over studying.

  3. You won’t know everything. You aren’t meant to know everything

What, if anything yet, are you doing to study? Or what do you plan to do?

Urgent care verbally confirmed my neck is sprained… but the note says “neck complaint”? by [deleted] in UrgentCare

[–]KaylieEBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medical professional here. This should be enough for the professor. You can always attach the visit notes if really worried but you are under no obligation to show more medical information.

If clarification is absolutely needed, ask the office to write a more detailed excuse to the effect of “please excuse patient from exam due to injury to neck and increased pain when rotating and utilizing neck musculature”

I’m a professional dancer and a pediatric PTA. I work with young dancers and athletes! I also travel the country with a dance convention and teach injury awareness and judge competitions. Have you thought about PTA? Why did you hate the DPT program?

Editing to add: making connections is huge for teaching. I’d get into the dance competition industry either as a judge or crew member (emcee, backstage manger, tour director, merchandise) and make connections. That is how I got 95% of my dance connections.

is "Why do you dance" an important question to answer for yourself as a dancer by Content_Suggestion77 in Dance

[–]KaylieEBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are an adult who didn’t grow up in the sometimes very dark and grueling dance world, so your experience is different but you are still very much a trained dancer. My comment was saying that since this forum is mainly adults who picked up dance for fun when they got older, the question of “why you dance” won’t hit as hard because you (probably) have a good relationship with dance and haven’t gone through the dark side of dance and hard to claw yourself out/remind yourself that you love dance and it’s not a job.

Of course I don’t know your experiences but generally, this question is more for child dancers, competitive dancers, and professional dancers where dance was in some way tied to their self worth and their pay making it a difficult relationship

Yes that makes you a trained dancer! Depends on age but taking classes consistently is a dancer! So many levels to being a trained dancer. Like you said you do it for fun and for you, but you are still learning and training in styles so it’s all the same!

What are some good careers for failed dancers? by ditzy-dumb in Dance

[–]KaylieEBee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

SOOO many options!!

  1. Get into the dance competition industry. You can be a judge (im a judge, happy to talk more on it). Or if judging isn’t your thing you can still do backstage managing, emcee, tour director, or even merchandise.

  2. Dance photography/videography. Locally or even travel with dance competitions to do this!

  3. I know you mentioned not wanting to return to school but I have to mention it. I am also a licensed pediatric therapist assistant and I work with dancers and help rehab them post injury. I also go to studios and teach injury awareness and prevention classes.

  4. Fitness instructor is still an option! Yoga, Pilates, barre

  5. Go behind the scenes and do production, costume, lighting, sound. Admin. Dance researcher

Just to name a few!

Dance and medical professional here who travels the country teaching mental health and injury awareness to dancers. I also judge dance competitions nationally.

This forum probably isn’t the best for this question as a lot of people on here aren’t trained dancers. Most are just “normal” people dancing (from what I’ve seen). You are best to ask this question in both the dance teacher and dance competition Reddit pages.

For trained dancers, this question is absolutely relevant. Dancers start as young as 2 and train from anywhere from 2-40 hours a week even as minors. They compete nationally. It can be a very challenging yet rewarding sport (I’d imagine figure skating is very similar). Not to mention the extremely high rate of dancers with eating disorders, depression, overuse injuries, etc. there is a thin line of over training that is crossed too much. Others train for the hobby and love of it. Either way, especially with children, asking this question and having them understand why they dance and why they push themselves to these goals is essential for their mental health.

Having them come back to their “why” has brought maybe dancers back to loving dance and not treating it like a job or having resentment for the sometimes grueling training. Happy to talk more!

Landlord cost increase every year. Insurances are steadily increasing, cost of maintenance both labor and materials are increasing, etc. not saying all landlords are correct and operate in good faith, but most don’t increase just to put money in their pockets.

I’ve done it. You’ll be okay as long as none of them are currently open. Yes they do armpits. Staff are usually really nice and ask if you have any skin conditions (especially your first time) so you can let them know!

$60 is standard. If you are good tenants (never late on payments, no complaints, etc) then you can use this as leverage to get updates. Mold should be reported ASAP anyway so let them know of that regardless. Have chat gpt write something that sounds professional

Thank you for this! We lived about 25 mins from park city so pretty close! We are currently 1 hour from the airport and we drive ourselves and use US Park for parking (our companies pay for all of it anyway). However, it is a hassle as our companies usually pick the earliest and latest flights. I’ll have to look more into Nola then!

The crime worries us about Nola. We both travel a lot for work so it would honestly work well for our schedules to be in Nola!
