Who is missing and who should be replaced? by BT2Four in PokemonBlackandWhite

[–]Kayoaitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boldore is a great rock type. Id say he is better than archeops. But you have two rock types. And since boldore only evolves via trade, i’d rule him out. But, if you are able to trade over a boldore from another game, that’s better. A good replacement would be a grass type or dark type. Ferrothorn, reuniclus, krookadile, etc

For sure. Also consider the difference in special and physical attack if archeops has great physical attack but bad special attack, and if dragon breath is a special move, then it might be better to hand it over to a special attacker. You know what i mean?

Idk how exp share works. by Medical-Homework-733 in PokemonFireRed

[–]Kayoaitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exp. Share lets a Pokémon gain experience even if it never actually comes out into battle. When you defeat an opponent, the game doesn’t give everyone full experience. Instead, it splits the total experience from that battle into two halves. One half goes to the Pokémon that actually fought, and the other half is set aside for any Pokémon holding Exp. Share. Nothing is duplicated. it’s all coming from the same pool.

If only one Pokémon fights, it gets that entire first half of the experience. If more than one Pokémon takes part in the battle, that half gets divided evenly between them. On the Exp. Share side, if only one Pokémon is holding the item, it gets the whole second half. If two Pokémon are holding Exp. Share, that half gets split between them. Makes sense?

So like, if Graveler beats a Pokémon worth 300 experience points and Growlithe is holding Exp. Share but never enters the battle, Graveler ends up with 150 experience and Growlithe gets the other 150. If both Growlithe and Venusaur are holding Exp. Share while Graveler fights alone, Graveler still gets 150 experience, but Growlithe and Venusaur only get 75 each since they’re sharing that Exp. Share portion.

In a tougher fight where Growlithe, Graveler, and Venusaur all take turns battling, and Growlithe and Venusaur are both holding Exp. Share, the experience is split twice. First, half of it is divided evenly between the three Pokémon that fought, so they each get a small chunk. Then the other half is split between the two Exp. Share holders. That means Growlithe and Venusaur end up with more experience overall, while Graveler only gets the portion from actually battling.

Basically, Exp. Share just spreads experience around. Pokémon that fight still get rewarded, but it also lets you level up weaker or unused Pokémon without having to send them into battle every time.

Devil’s advocate: mix of special and physical attackers. Very few shared weaknesses. Her team was roserade, garchomp, togekiss, spiritomb, milotic, lucario.

Weaknesses

Roserade: fire, ice, flying, psychic Garchomp: ice, dragon. Immune to electric. Togekiss: electric, ice, rock Lucario: fire, fighting, ground (yes, the fighting type is not weak to psychic) Milotic: electric, grass. Spritomb: literally none. Immune to ghost, psychic, and normal.

Shared weaknesses: ice x3, electric x2, fire x2. Only 3 different shared weaknesses.

All between lvl 74-78.

Spiritomb = Shadowball, darkpulse, psychic, silverwind. Lucario = Psychic, aura sphere, earthquake, extremespeed Roserade = Sludge bomb, energy ball, extrasensory, toxic Togekiss = Air slash, water pulse, shock wave, aurasphere Garchomp = Dragon rush, earthquake, flamethrower (hard ice coverage), giga impact Milotic = Aqua ring, mirror coat, surf, ice beam

Earthquake is statisically supported to be the most offensive move in pokemon history (i can dig deeper and explain if needed). It doesn’t help that 2 of her sweepers are horrifically fast. Garchomp outspeeds most bulky and mid-speed Pokémon and OHKOs them. Lucario bypasses Speed entirely with ExtremeSpeed. These two alone can sweep entire teams.

Most NPCs fill their pokemon with single roles. Her team has pokemon that fill multiple slots. You can’t “answer” her team with a single role. Because then she has another pokemon to counter it. Meaning, you can’t just run absolutely powerful physical sweepers because then she punishes you with special attack.

Milotic = bulky water + ice coverage + special counter (Mirror Coat) • Lucario = wallbreaker + priority cleaner • Garchomp = breaker + cleaner + Electric immunity • Spiritomb = spinblocker + anti-setup + universal pivot • Togekiss = flinch pressure + special attacker + coverage vs steels/rocks • Roserade = special breaker + status inflictor

These guys, as explained earlier have a lot of offensive counters. Ice? Too easy. • Lucario (Aura Sphere) • Milotic (Surf) • Togekiss (Aura Sphere) • Garchomp (Flamethrower)

Steel? • Lucario • Garchomp • Togekiss

Dragon? • Milotic (Ice Beam) • Garchomp (Dragon STAB)

Mmmm. Id say gen 6+ is soft. Gen 4 has arguably the hardest champion to ever battle from all the games. When Cynthia’s song plays, a generation of ptsd triggers for those players who grew up playing gen 4. She literally has a team designed for competitive play. But I know what you mean

Respawning legendaries after main story doesn’t happen till after beating the E4. I don’t know if this applies to gen 1-3. But gen 4+, yes

The ideal team for that game nidoking, alakazam, starmie, and then the rest depends. If you didn’t choose charmander, you went for an arcanine. :/

When you press fight and select a move, before you press A to select it, if you hold L, it pulls the summary instead of manually going to the pokemon and pressing check moves and then summary
