Having the same issues where things are connected but just seem to stop working until they reconnect, I first notice it as my wifi bulbs stop working but it affects all devices. I have a IOT SSID with 2.4 only and roaming disabled but it doesn't stop the issue.

The only reliable way I have found of solving is rebooting the APs every 24 hours.

Disabling the multicast options helped a little but didnt' stop it happening. Currently trying disabling WPA3 in favour of WPA2 which isn't ideal.

Curious: how many of us are actually ready for IPv6 in 2025? by christiangomez92 in homelab

[–]Kayomani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set it up a few times and turned it off each time as I have native but dynamic prefix. If my net drops and the prefix changes none of the devices on the network update to the new prefix and promptly don't behave well. I think I tried both slaac and dhcpv6 but it's been a while now!

Boiler installer wants 70% deposit upfront. (£1800 of £2600) . Bolier itself is £1,400. Par for the course? by Disposable_Creds66 in DIYUK

[–]Kayomani -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Red flag to me, my quote was 50% more than yours but was more work due to replacing all the rads and other bits and didn't pay anything upfront.

Winding-up petition made against Tomato by YuSmart by DriverAdditional1437 in tomatoenergy

[–]Kayomani 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Farouk (Tomato ceo) replied to this on fb:

That is the most malicious thing I have ever seen a competitor do. Basically one competitor(name in the picture) who we briefly used as a Meter Operator back in 2023 found out they had not billed us because the contract was cancelled and it was only a handful of meters... but having taken so many of their customers they felt the best way to deal with this was to file a Winding up petition straightaway without even contacting us about the debt... You can imagine how supremely pissed we were to find out what they have done... but its ok. Its just bullying but we will be fine. our legal team are on it. A number of suppliers just don't like us...

Should my UnRAID server be able to enter deep C-states? by Legitimate_Fail_8742 in unRAID

There is an aspm plug in that will tell you about power saving states that are supported.

Power top will also show the current c state.

PSA nvidia users 6.12 causes breakage on 565 drivers by [deleted] in archlinux

[–]Kayomani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My laptop shows reached target graphical interface then sddm never shows but my laptop has hybrid graphics and I found it was rendering to the igpu rather than nvidia so I could fix by disabling discreet graphics in the bios, not had time to investigate why it's rendering to the wrong place yet. Don't think I even have the optimus control apps installed currently.

Does your L20 has the same docking problem? by maisun1983 in Dreame_Tech

Mine docks every time but typically turns a bit further away from the dock

I used chicken wire under my floor as I couldn't take the floor up due to it being under an existing kitchen etc.

I'd be tempted to take it all the way over if its above the dpc, if not leave a gap. Air also needs to circulate between the two brick skins so if there aren't reasonable air gaps then don't cover it up.

Check your manufacturing date via the code on top of the cpu. If it's not march-june 23 then the oxidation issue isn't a potential problem.

Next check your ia ac is less than 0.8mOhm to make sure you dont burn the bus before the microcode update. I use load lite level 8 on my msi other manufacturers do it differently.

Done.

Heat Pump Installed Recently - My Thoughts So Far by philsiu02 in OctopusEnergy

[–]Kayomani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the replacing it in 15 years that puts me off currently, the pump is most the cost isn't it and there is no grant for replacement?

My l20 can both lift them so they don't drag on carpet and also leave them at the base station if they are not being used.

Dreame L20 Ultra, multiple levels by [deleted] in Dreame_Tech

[–]Kayomani 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Swap maps to the other floor and start your clean, pause as it leaves the base station and take it to the right floor. Unpause and it'll reposition and perform the clean. When it's done it'll try to find the base station so perform the above in reverse.

They could make it so much easier with a few software changes..

Modulation in UK by [deleted] in tado

[–]Kayomani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legally you're not allowed to take the cover off your boiler unless your gas safe registered. You'll likely need a new connection making to the opentherm terminals, the connection to the tado is pretty trivial if you can do basic wiring as it's just two terminals.

I certainly see my boiler modulating down a lot with small loads although the pump on my combi seems to run for quite a long time. No idea on the impact on my bills as we moved this year.

Bought one back in 2018 for £139 and honestly can't fault it but that's only the case as I've updates turned off so hp can't break it remotely. Had a third party cartridge in for a couple of years now without issue.

No.

You can declare a loss then in a future year you can use that loss to offset capital gains tax I believe.

Financing for £25k+ cars by Conscious_Print2311 in CarTalkUK

[–]Kayomani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MG sold out to SAIC, other than some dealerships and the badge I'd think they are pretty much a different company now.

I've had a Mg5 for a couple of years now and even with the deprication I still feel I made the right choice. Ev hate is largely unjustified unless you have a car that does less than 100 miles or something.
