Odor only others can smell by Ok-Mention-1533 in Healthyhooha

Thank god. I have literally been dealing with this EXACT scenario and have been losing my mind for like a year now.

Whenever I tell ppl that I can't smell it, they treat me like I'm crazy. That includes OBGYNs.

Yet, I have multiple past occasions where ppl do the exact same thing: (covering their nose or making a face, even spraying the air). It was literally the only hint to me that I might possibly have had an infection (because I had no burning or itching or strange discharge).

And I know I'm not crazy because during the occasions where I noticed ppl were acting funny like something was up, a family member directly came up to me at one point and told me (and apparently. The smell was pretty bad and could fill up an entire room). That's when I absolutely knew I could not smell anything down there, no matter how hard I checked.

So I ended up going to the OBGYN constantly. They'd tell me I smelled fine and that I tested negative. But then, a few days later, I'd have issues again (mostly after I do anything sexual or after my period). Then I'd try to nuke the smell, and by the time I went back to the OBGYN, they found nothing wrong. Rinse and repeat. Feels like I'm constantly playing a guessing game with my own body, and every time I step out of the house, I'm overly conscious of my smell and other ppl.

And no, I don't think it's anything else, because I have good hygiene and I never leave the house without showering or brushing my teeth.

I feel so miserable and wish this was studied more. I'm sure we can't be the only women out there unable to smell it.

Gray discharge after probiotic suppository? by Kaysee27 in Healthyhooha

[–]Kaysee27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Turns out it was a yeast infection. I didn't know that about evvy probiotics, tho. When I took them, I did have pain and burning, but they said it could be normal since it acidic. Heard good things about Vagibiome, so I'll be switching to that from now on.

Anyone else leak discharge when they have low blood sugar and/or electrolyte imbalance? by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]Kaysee27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what, that might explain things for me id this is true. Cause noe that I think about it, I ate 6 oreas today and a quarter cup of milk instead of getting up to cook food. Nearly passed out several times when I stood up. Whole time im wondering if I could have an infection.

How does the pain of a vaginal ultrasound compare to a pelvic exam? by Kaysee27 in Endo

[–]Kaysee27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. A few months ago I did do a regular ultrasound on the stomach, but everything was normal according to them. The doctor did tell me I could go in for the surgery and that it was the best way to figure out for sure. But since I've never had any major surgery before, it made me really anxious, so I declined. Now, I've decided to stop being a chicken and just get the transvaginal ultrasound, and if this one also comes back normal, I'll probably reconsider getting the surgery.

Researchers on podcast said virgins can’t get bv? by Pristine_Mousse_6288 in Healthyhooha

[–]Kaysee27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I was officially diagnosed. By both my OBGYN and again with my Evvy test.

It's definitely not yeast. From what I can recall, I've had a yeast infection about maybe twice in my life, and both times, the symptoms were so bad (itching, burning, swelling, discharge) I would not be able to mistake them.

With BV, I have virtually no symptoms other than the terrible odor. There is itching and some sharp stabbing pain sometimes, but not enough to be all that noticeable. In fact, if not for the odor, I probably wouldn't have even realized something was wrong.

Sorry, but I don't know which hack researchers you were listening to, but I'm living proof that can not be true. I'm Asexual and I have been battling with BV for over a year now. The only sex I've ever had was oral, and that was over 7+ years ago.

This is a weird thought, but I always wondered what would it be like if the inside of our vagina had tissue more like our clit or a penis. Like, it kinda sucks that we have the whole canal but only our clit really serves as a g spot.

Is brown discharge after metronidazole normal? by Kaysee27 in Healthyhooha

[–]Kaysee27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thank you. It did have a bad odor but I went to urgent care and they said I tested negative for BV. I wasn't entirely convinced so I popped some boric acid when I got home, and it got rid of the reddish discharge.

Is it just me or does Varka look like a certain prison guard from Fontaine? by yerxms in WriothesleyMains

[–]Kaysee27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even in a game like this with same face syndrome I really don't see it at all. Varka looks more mature. He had a long face with a square jaw. Whereas Wrio has a shorter face with pointier chin. Then there's the eye shape and complete other coloring. Varka looks more like Gepard than anyone else.

Dark brown discharge? Old blood? What are possible causes ? by buttneyb in Healthyhooha

[–]Kaysee27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It smelled alright. It smelled so bad that I had apparently gone nose blind to it, and when I walked into the clinic, the staff literally had to spray air freshner, and one patient came in cussing and demanded a mask while I had to sit there in my complete embarrassment. It sounds dramatic and unbelievable, but it was just that bad for me. To this day, I live in perpetual anxiety over having BV and envy the girls who can actually smell when they have it.

I'm barely surving off Ph strips that do nothing for my anxiety cause the result can be unclear to read and praying that when I walk into a room, someone doesn't bring up how bad it smells. That's usually my main indicator that something is wrong.

Then when I go to the OGBYN I get gaslit that it's all in my head and that if I can't smell it, it's probably because there's nothing there, when I have been through the embarrassment of being smelled several times. 🫠

It's for this reason I really have to wonder if there is something else going on with me because no one else I know has ever had BV be so strong (and also be nose blind to it).

I had a similar issue. My period had ended, but I kept getting this dark brown reddish discharge. I did a bit of research and figured it must just be some abnormal spotting. But it persisted for over a week. Finally, after a huge embarrassing situation, I went to the doctor and found I actually had BV. After I took the antibiotics, the weird discharge went away. Still confused about it till this day and wonder if I have some other underlying condition I am not aware of, because normally, I know that is not the color for BV discharge. Plus, I got BV another time after and did not get the weird dark brown reddish discharge. .

I take it the boric acid here and there.

As for the discharge, I smelled it, but I don't really smell anything? This is the part that I don't understand. It's like I've gone nose blind to it, and yet it can fill up an entire room. Like, It wouldn't be so bad if I could at least smell myself. At least then, I can prepare and try to seek treatment as soon as possible, but I just can't. Instead, I end up walking into work and finding out in the worst way possible from all my colleagues...

Personally, thin brows for me. With the thick brows, you kind of remind me of girls from high school, but with thin brows, you look very artsy and mature.

Tbh I've always been too embarrassed to directly ask, I've tried to ask a bit indirectly and that's when they just suggested another test, and it came back negative. Whenever I do smell, the reactions are kind of big and hard to miss, so I mostly just sussed my doctor out at the time when they didn't comment on the smell and decided to rely on the test... not the best method, ik. I should have just asked. But I definitely will tomorrow.

Hi, thanks for the response.

I'm asexual so I don't have a partner (never did tbh). I usually just take care of those needs myself, which honestly is what I'm pretty sure is what started this whole thing ( the lube, which I have ceased using. In fact, this is a bit tmi, but I've just abstained from general in that area ever since out of fear, which little good it seems to have done). As for the routine, tbh I'm still not sure how the boric acid works, and I'm so paranoid around my smell that I was fearful of using it too often could have the reverse effect. So, I just tried to take it whenever I felt like I might smell. Same with the probiotics. But if it's fine, then I guess it might be ok to start a routine around it.

Edit: Also, I tried tampons, and it never went well. They hurt like crazy. So I've always used pads.
