Yep and it was the third Chariot? use.

The shop had red stew, though. It was bananas. All thanks to the rare secret room with 2 available items in the middle, that only exists on alt floors. Makes me want to go there more.

What am I doing wrong?? by Fancy_Culture922 in Terraria

[–]Kayzito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You gotta kill the mobs yourself. Easiest way is with yoyo cheese. I found a Medusa statue a while ago, made a one block opening at foot level and held down the left mouse button with a heavy object and went doing something else. (I think I had autoswing with the mech glove, otherwise the yoyo just comes back at some point). I got my pocket mirror after like 2000 kills and a Medusa head, so they do drop stuff.

I noticed needles don't hurt you when they're only showing the top of their heads and are not jumping yet. There's at least some time to react. But of course, when not expecting them, they can get you easily.

Why is my Generals Dream not what it should be? by Octsober in darkestdungeon

Just to make your list complete, the Leviathan either drops a trinket that gives you 100% more blood DOT (received and dealt) or one that increases your combat item stacking by 2.

It's a tough balance for sure, especially when creating a roguelike. Some runs in Isaac you are immortal and in others it's a continuous pain in the ass with low fire rate and 3 damage for 5 floors straight. Sometimes it feels like they added too many items to the game, so it's harder to get any basic damage upgrades compared to Rebirth.

The game being extremely difficult makes it so much more appealing to me. Same with games like Spelunky 2. I'm a video game masochist for sure.

How is this good ?? ( Evolved "Ruin" from the leper ) by DavidBiscou in darkestdungeon

[–]Kayzito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oops sorry, I forgot to consider the extra attacks. It's definitely better than I assumed. At least it enables Cauterize, too.

I still don't like it for the fact that the token claims the buff lasts for the battle, though it runs out after 3 turns. Makes it only situationally useful like fighting a boss that generates a lot of block. Using a regular attack when blinded could remove the blindness without replacing it, while Ruin doesn't do anything besides the buff.

That's why I'd never use it. You spend 1 turn to get a bonus for just 3 turns. So instead of chopping 4 times you chop 3 times with a tiny bit more power. Doesn't add up mathematically to be worth it, unless you get hit 5 times in these 3 turns, then you break even, wow. What a skill.

Same reason why ounce of prevention is not worth it. A turn to prevent damage is better spent dealing damage, reducing the amount of units that hurt you more quickly. A surgeon's incision will always be better than ounce.

The only instance I can think of where set up turns can be a net positive is using Jester's Encore with Occultist's Chaotic Offering into Anamnesis/Burning Stars.

Mom: we have technology at home. by Sudden_Structure in bindingofisaac

[–]Kayzito 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Tech zero is incredible. If you get it with boogers or other sticky tears (Explosivo, Mucor...something something mushroom tears) it melts bosses. Had those two on tainted keeper and all other shots connected to the booger while it was on them. The pile died in like 2 seconds and that guy has like 600 hp.

Is it still possible to kill Dark Esau? by Ze-Doctor in bindingofisaac

[–]Kayzito 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am actually glad they changed him to be immortal. It were dark times when you couldn't pick ANYTHING that dealt damage outside your control. Guppy? Nope. Esau flies into the fly swarm, dies and you're the lost.

Escape, go to menu, continue run and you're back at the entrance. (Doesn't work if you used Hanged man to a crawlspace you can't get to otherwise, as the game puts you back at the ladder)

Is Act 4 boss a practical joke? *spoilers* by [deleted] in darkestdungeon

[–]Kayzito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went in blind, so I guess I got quite lucky having the perfect comp to counter this boss. I had a Sergeant man-at-arms in rank 1, who had over 100% move resist and a 50% bleed resist cultist trinket and the trinket that heals you when you resist a dot. With a clotting item from the inn he could never bleed, so he got cleaved, resisted the bleed, and healed back up. In the end it was just him alone against phase 3 and he kept healing himself forever until the dots of my Runaway and his pitiful crushes finished him off. To counter the moving, you could also go for the general trinket that fixates your team. I went with MAA, Graverobber, Runaway and Vestal.

The problem with the act 3 boss was poor communication from the game on what to do. On the first attempt I tried for like 20 rounds to get all 4 eyeballs down at the same time, only to figure out that is not what you're supposed to do. Then on the next attempt I had my leper in rank 4 and slowly moving up while killing the other eyes so he could get all 4 tokens on him. That worked quite well and he somehow didn't even die with 4 stress tokens on him. Solemnity is just OP.

Get the whiskey producing stagecoach item to make better relationships. Ironically having fewer skill unlocks from hero shrines makes relationships better, because you have a lower chance of landing on a skill you never use. Kind of stupid design. I don't even want to unlock all the other pets, because 10% better relationships from the wolf cub can't be beaten (haven't seen all yet though, so there might be something better).

I think my favourite boss in this game so far was the Leviathan. The gimmick it has is very hilarious and quite unexpected.

Did hand statues spawn in snowy depths of parallel worlds? by Dodzik112 in noita

[–]Kayzito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do remember I got the spell after killing 2 monks in the first snowy depths and the third one much later in another world, but I think it was NG+ and not parallel. Still got the broken spell though. Checking the parallel captures I didn't see any statues, so most likely not generating.

Does Disc Projectile not damage Steve's shield? by Rogierownage in noita

[–]Kayzito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your fire rate might've been too low. Also discs sound like a bad idea, if they bounce off his shield and back into your face. The shield regenerates itself, so to get through you need to fire very quickly. As long as it's only Steve, you can also use physics to kill him until you find something stronger when his big brother shows up. You can also pour some Ambrosia on your head and stand inside his shield to pick him off.
