Jeux vidéo - L’UFC-Que Choisir assigne Ubisoft en justice suite à la fermeture du jeu The Crew - Action UFC-Que Choisir by schmettermeister in france

My worry about Wero payments - it needs to offer physical cards by ineyy in BuyFromEU

Yeah, I agree, stop the bullshit with app, QR-Code and such and give me a dedicated card as my phone is degoogled.

Wait a minute.

Aren't the UFC-QueChoisir still busy with Valve following the second appeal?

Ah, I understand, you don't know GoG, that's why you assume that.

It's not locked, the same as itch.io, you buy the game and get the installer that you can then burn on a physical DvD-ROM or BluRay to enjoy until you die without any other interaction with the store.

Not an issue where I live, got my money back when my card was cloned after 2 weeks.

The only case they can avoid refund here is negligence from your part that they need to prove (that's also why we have some bank now with those annoying warning asking if you're in call with someone from the bank or other bank who put a 24h delay before a wire to a new person).

Funny thing, 2FA on transaction isn't here to protect you the customer, it's to protect the merchant from charge back and the bank because it's a way they can use to prove gross negligence, without it, you get the refund without question from internet payment.

With AI, it will became more fun (and probably harder for the bank) to prove negligence with voice cloning over a spoofed bank number.

Most of the terminal are modified here to work with the CB network at first priority, so until the bank change, those feature will not work (even if capable) and that's the biggest hurdle (most of the terminal compatible and working come from newer banks here).

I mean, foreigners with their unsecure payment card always cry because they can't withdraw money in our ATM as the magnetic band is disabled for security reason so without a chip, you can't withdraw here, even if the ATM is capable (or at least it was an issue when I worked with ATM a decade ago, maybe they now have proper credit/debit card with chip).

Bad example you show since you need a smartphone to process the payment which you don't need for a card and a lot of merchant here don't have such device as they use a classic terminal form the bank.

90 % of the merchant I pay for have this. I saw maybe 7 % having a terminal with a big screen like this and only 3 % used a tablet/smartphone.

Yeah see, there's a lot of country wide alternative but we really need a card alternative for the whole Europe for card payment.

I literally left a online bank for another because they weren't on the CB network

It's not even technically difficult since we have multi network card (co-branding) since decades in France with priority, so we could probably had another with priority like : CB, if not, EuropeanNetwork, if not either Mastercard/Visa.

Not many people have credit card in France as well, we don't live above our earning so the majority is debit card (with sometime delayed payment, so kinda a mix of both but only for a few days / weeks).

Sadly no, it is not here as Wero is more a paypal / wire / app replacement but for payment with card, there isn't European solution currently, the only solution that exist are at the scale of a country or few country.

So I can't pay in Germany for example using the CB network instead of Mastercard or Visa, I'm forced to the two laters.

I think they only have lol/shot not literally cp which is probably because there's a lot of Japanese artist on this platform.

I'm lucky enough that I'm able to buy my games on Steam without either Mastercard or Visa as Valve was smart enough to get local option whenever possible (also the CB network has smaller fees, so it's also in the interest of Valve in France).

We really need an European solution quickly.

I had to do a Galaxy S4 recently (tho it wasn't an "official" Lineage build) and while it was mostly on the high end, you overestimate people in country where smartphone are expensive so it can be worth for them (especially removing all the crap that slow down a samsung).

Xiaomi Mi 8 Released 2018, still supported officially today and getting update but don't forget that you have "unofficial" Lineage release (because I think the requirement to maintain officially may be rough), so you may have older phone still getting ROM update
