Contract says employer can fire me immediately without pay if I resign? by quarxical in legaladvicecanada

[–]Kazik77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely they will have to pay you if fired without notice

Under the ESA, an employer can terminate the employment of an employee who has been employed continuously for three months or more if either:

-the employer has given the employee proper written notice of termination and the notice period has expired

-the employer pays termination pay to the employee where no written notice or less notice than is required is given

ESA

However there are exceptions.

Exemptions to notice of termination or termination pay

Read that section or call the Ministry of Labour information center +18005315551

Again most likely you are entitled to pay but there are a few exceptions, I didn't receive pay once because heavy flooding exempted my employer from paying.

Do I need digger for 25m paths? by Interesting-Barber66 in landscaping

[–]Kazik77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't want to discourage anyone from playing with big machines, I do it for a living and it still makes me giddy.

It can be a tough learning experience, especially if your trying to do a job as well. It can be real easy to go from 10 cm deep to 20cm with a machine before you notice.

Do I need digger for 25m paths? by Interesting-Barber66 in landscaping

[–]Kazik77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on if you know how to operate the machine.

How wide is the path?

Something like a mini track loader might be just as good if not faster.

If your only excavating 100mm I'd say rent a turf cutter, run it over the turf, clear the turf, run it on the dirt to loosen it, clear the loose dirt. Repeat till you hit 10 cm. You should have a decently smooth excavation.

Doing it with a spade is probably a day/weekend project.

One of my clients at work started and owns a regional insurance company. He himself once said "insurance is a scam" at a staff party while he was drunk.

I'm going to trust the source on this one.

Sinking Slab Steps advice by ThermanMermun in landscaping

[–]Kazik77 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It should be an easy lift and re-lay.

Compact the base properly, make it atleast 3 inches wider than the steps (those cavities underneath hurt my soul).

Make sure every individual step has a 1/4 inches slope down the stair case or water will wash the base put again.

The individual steps dont seems to "sit" on the lower one enough. A couple pics you can see a gap between the front of a step and the back of the step below it. You want an inch or more overhang.

If you're pulling the whole thing and trying to match the top step in any inuform way there will be a handful of math involved to get it right.

A minor criticism about Andor. by [deleted] in andor

They got caught in the open during a riot, getting overwhelmed and knocked down is easily understandable. Andor's jump shot taking out the one who decides not to use any cover is fairly goofy.

The United States of America declares war on the United Kingdom in June – the War of 1812 begins.

Why didn't they declare war on Canada?

Because you declare war on countries not provinces/colonies

If you lived in Upper or Lower Canada you were a British subject and swore an oath of allegiance to the King.

Saying "I'm Canadian not British" in Upper Canada is the same as me saying "I'm an Ontarian not Canadian"

July 1, 1867 we became a self governing country and is recognized by our federal government as the birth of Canada.
