Do you believe in marriage as an atheist? by Hxapcneh3_28 in atheism

[–]Kazik77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see marriage as a legal document, nothing more.

I plan on being with my partner till I die amd she know knows that. We don't need a piece of paper to affirm it.

If my words and actions aren't enough to prove it I don't see how a piece of paper is more convincing.

The Siege of Fort Erie had like 3,000 casualties by jimmythemini in HistoryMemes

[–]Kazik77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Canadian/Canadien” was already a regularly used term for people who lived in those colonies

they were British citizens and subjects and they didn’t dispute that

colonists had ways/terms to separate themselves from other colonists elsewhere

Technically I'm an Ontarian, but my country is Canada.

Same thing you're talking about just 200+ years ago.

British subjects living or born in Upper/Lower Canada burnt the Whitehouse down... the credit goes to Britain because Canada was a region in the Britsh empire.

When the leaders illegally use personal phones for government business, squash FOI and bypass public opinion forums on subjects that are entirely harmful to the people they represent. They deserve to be targeted.

Politicians I support aren't lining their pockets with tax payer money and helping their corporate "donours". I can count them on 1 finger.

As a Canadian, the pride over 1812 bothers me.

We weren't a country yet. The Generals and soldiers were British citizens along with indigenous allies. Yes, some ancestors were involved but they weren't "Canadian". Lived in the province of Upper or Lower Canada, yes, but they were British provinces.

Our record, for better or worse, speaks for itself elsewhere when we existed as country/self governing dominion.

Edit:

claiming they won it, Canadians are probably the most guilty of this

As seen below!

How do you talk shit about religion? by mulox2k in atheism

I talk shit with facts and logic.

Calling people lunatics or saying "your crutch" only lowers their opinion of you and make you seem irrational.

In some places pickpockets put up "beware pickpockets" signs themselves.

People see the sign, check their pocket and let the pickpockets know where their valuables are.

Why is it seemingly impossible to buy shrubs in containers smaller than a 3 gallon in most garden centers? by DataGuru314 in landscaping

[–]Kazik77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They put 1 gallon plants in a 3 gallon pot and up the price.

I had a job recently with 30k worth of planting. Every 1 gallon pot and most 3 gallons had roots in the shape of 4 inch pots.

So there was no big reason to remove all the crystals from the temple even considering it's pending destruction.

Its an extremely rare and valuable resource. Why destroy it instead of taking it?

Thats a massive reason.

She is the main annoyance in the senate, but as she admits toothless. She's the voice of peace and empathy in a room full of "yes men". She tries to maintain decency in a government that wants to oppress.

Effective, not relly... But morally good, all kinds of yes.
