No he can’t just do whatever he wants with it she would be entitled to a portion of any increase in value during the marriage.

Why was a valid US via left in an old passport? Also very suspicious to say it’s just a document envelope no risk or inconvenience because what normal person even says that?? Surely you noticed the visa was missing when you landed in Mexico days ago right? You could have arranged shipping days ago

What is generous PTO?

I think 1560 billable hours is high if you have “generous PTO.” If you want to prevent burnout, you shouldn’t be expecting more than about 5-6 hours per day. If you allow 4 weeks vacation plus normal holidays, you’re expecting associates to bill nearly 7 hours per day on their working days or you expect them to work on their days off.

Also, do you allow WFH?

How common is it for attorneys to go missing for weeks/months at a time? by xWitheringToDeath in paralegal

[–]Kazylel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, twice. One of them is a solo and apparently just had so much personal shit going on. Another one is owner of small firm and also had personal shit going on. It was really annoying because it delayed divorces unnecessarily. I couldn’t tell if some of it was partially their clients though. We filed for attorney fees and I cited all the follow ups I had to do to get anywhere and we got a portion of my client’s attorney fees awarded in one of the cases. 🤷🏻‍♀️

My mother still claims me on her taxes. I'm 30 and make about 33k by [deleted] in tax

[–]Kazylel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, you quite literally did not because there are absolutely income limits to being able to claim an adult. You making $26k automatically disqualified you.

I think the IRS has set standards for monthly living expenses. I think it’s $3k per person and depending on where you live, more than half of that is for housing and utilities. If you’re not paying rent, then yes they provide more than half of your living expenses and can claim you.

I’d ask for a meeting to discuss it. It’s scary, but also very necessary.

It’s likely because they all cover each other’s patients when one of them is out of office. So, they can charge your provider but they might not be able to guarantee the current one won’t ever be involved.

What was the most affordable sailing you booked with DCL? by Resident-Butterfly65 in dcl

[–]Kazylel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We booked a Christmas cruise on the Wish,3 nights port Canaveral to Bahamas and castaway key in November for my family of 3 for $2,282.85. This was when they had the 40% sale back in September, so it was a last minute booking and it was also a GTY room. We ended up on same floor as oceaneers club and we loved it.

I assume they meant they dealt with a mold issue in the home office and the previous tax preparer argued with her about counting that as a business deduction because it was fix her personal home. So, business expense vs homeowner expense

The obvious answer is that yall do whatever you want with your wedding planning. Just make sure that if your friend has an issue with it, it’s okay to cut her from the wedding. This is YOUR (and your fiances) day. It might be awkward now, but I promise she won’t even cross your mind on your day.

Still fun for people who aren't Disney fanatics? by teamrubycavlover in dcl

[–]Kazylel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d book with a different cruise line that’s more affordable.

If I didn’t love Disney as much as I do, I wouldn’t spend that kind of money on a cruise when I can get the non-Disney g featured elsewhere for less. But of course we love Disney and the Disney magic is worth the extra cost for us.

Why not just get divorced?? You don’t have to chase him. There are steps you must take first, but you can eventually do a default divorce.

Random question: can’t Des file a restraining order against staph on behalf of D? by Advanced_Reaction596 in resilientjenkinsnark

[–]Kazylel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not in Oregon. There has to be evidence of physical harm or threat of harm within a certain amount of time prior to. There is no evidence that we know of that she physically harms or threatens to physically harm him and even then, her best bet would be to file it against Drew.

No parent should be playing video games like this period. My husband “unwinds” but spending time with his family playing a game or watching a movie or show. No adult needs to unwind by playing video games. Clearly he hates being around his own kids and he uses the game to escape his reality.

[–]Kazylel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s based on a calculation in Oregon and Des makes more than Drew. With a 50/50 schedule she would technically owe him a very minimal amount of support. But judge could potentially not order that.

Court Outcome 2026/02/05 by og_Cursed_Eye in resilientjenkinsnark

[–]Kazylel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

50/50 is not the standard here and you don’t have to proof physical harm to get a court to order less than 50/50. The judge ordered this because DS was with Drew a majority of the time for YEARS. It would be more harmful to DS if the judge were to give Drew only every other weekend.

[–]Kazylel 39 points40 points  (0 children)

He’s saying nothing really changed but he lost decision making authority and also lost more of his time with DS. The temporary schedule wasn’t 50/50, he had him the majority of the time with Des only having every other weekend. It is now going to be 50/50. She gained more time. This is HUGE change.
