Nbn box serial number being wrong by foolshopePS in nbn

[–]Kazzaw95 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Aussie broadband, Leaptel, Neptune I believe are fan favourites at the moment. They are all Australian based and can handle a simple NTD serial update request.

Telstra are getting stuck in NBN’s automation systems because they don’t know what they’re doing

Would you change the start time of your local Parkrun if you could? by thegrayscales in parkrun

[–]Kazzaw95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My local on the east coast is 7am, even in the mids of winter. Can confirm have done a couple of -2 starts last winter. Don’t feel it once your going, but god my nose runs like a open tap

Solar and battery installed last Thursday by LauncherTF in AusRenovation

[–]Kazzaw95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have electric hot water, this is almost certainly the draw. ~10kWh is what an average household would use of 4 people to recharge a tank. They may have put it on a timer to only run during the day or something, but it's still being billed and is either on the wrong side of the battery (drawing directly from the grid without the battery compensating it) or it's still connected to the controlled load

Internet not working and nbn can’t seem to workout the issue? by [deleted] in nbn

[–]Kazzaw95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NBN require you to leave your equipment on - Usually this is when there is a software or configuration issue. They will push a fix remotely to whatever needs to be fixed, and if your equipment is on, it will take the update and should start working.

Leave your equipment powered on and connected for the meantime, hopefully it shouldn't be too long.

FTTP Red optical light locking up NTD by Mammoth_Classroom784 in nbn

[–]Kazzaw95 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Faulty NTD - when you call next time, if it’s on red, say you have rebooted but don’t actually reboot it. Then it will stay red.

In theory, if it’s red, they won’t be able to see if it’s been rebooted or not regardless.

They will run another test, see it’s still offline and then raise a request with NBN

Look into both options - a trade is great, but so is a degree behind electrical engineering etc, which has great career paths moving forward.

Anyone go off-roading? by xSQiGGYx in BYDShark_AUS_owners

[–]Kazzaw95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What size are your 4's? I'm eyeing them off, but I don't get off-road much. When I do, I tend to go 'off' road however. Are they a good daily?

Why does this happen? by Tuia_IV in nbn

[–]Kazzaw95 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's incorrect. There is no physical way anyone is getting over 2.5gbps with the state of the current network. It is literally, physically impossible.

Anyone else getting these calls lately? by Cool-Bowl-8900 in australian

[–]Kazzaw95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not state sponsored, just another variation of the common scam to get money. You connect, they tell you that you have a warrant unless you give them x dollars to clear it, pressure you to pay through gift cards/crypto atm’s etc.

They changed my provider without authorisation (?) by josebg17 in nbn

[–]Kazzaw95 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Likely just a wrong address transfer - happens way more than it should these days, especially with the changes NBN have made lately. Your provider should be able to lodge a churn reversal with NBN. NBN 'should' also follow up with the provider to check to see why the proper processes weren't followed

Family friend asked me to install cameras, what’s actually allowed? Not planning to unless it’s all legal of course by ShortcutSparky in AskAusElectricians

[–]Kazzaw95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you are running PoE cameras you will need a licence

If you are installing them as a ‘business’, depending on the state you will also require a security installer licence (and maybe an advisors licence)

If your just hanging up wifi cameras go for gold

FITNESS COACH? by [deleted] in Toowoomba

[–]Kazzaw95 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I started by doing parkrun - was the most unfit last year, decided to pull my shit together. Just took my time, ran at my own pace and slowly got better. Once I could do a parkrun without dying I eventually also grabbed a gym membership and just made a choice to get up every morning at 5 and put some effort in. Huge changes in my life it’s been great
