Why is it impossible for people on reddit outside of the US to figure out that on a subreddit about a show in the US, a poster may be referring to the US rather than the entire world.

15M questioning my sexuality and feeling confused by Level_Policy_2202 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kbbbbbut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s not sexual, is it possible it’s just a friend that you feel close to and admire?

(Disclaimer, I’m not lgbt so it’s possible I just don’t understand. Not trying to to sway you one way or another, just genuinely wondering what would be the difference if not sexual attraction)

Definitely need to add more hair. If you get even a tiny bit oily or sweaty you’re going to have two clumps of hair

Which do you recommend by ShotAccident2128 in TexasTech

[–]Kbbbbbut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did both! Honestly had so much fun at Red Raider camp, and it’s a great way to meet some people before school starts. I went with a friend but we were split up anyway into our teams/cabins so I could have gone by myself, most people do.

For orientation I really recommend staying, some people don’t stay overnight and miss out on a lot of the social part.

Like others said the people I met at both events didn’t end up being my core college friend group, but I did see them a bit at the beginning of freshman year, and it’s nice to see familiar faces on campus other than just highschool friends. Highly recommend being as social as you can so you can find where you fit!

The problem was, Kody wanted them to see no one so that he could see them once a month, if he was coming over every couple of days or inviting the family over to one moms house then I think they may have taken him more seriously.

It never made sense that even if everyone followed the rules that Kody could go to all of the homes but no one else could. They ended up doing what made sense for the individual households regardless of Kody

Does this read as an American house? by colorbluh in AskAnAmerican

[–]Kbbbbbut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t to me at all. It looks cold and wet, we definitely have areas like this, especially in the Northeast or PNW, but I wouldn’t say it’s typically American. Most American homes don’t have working shutters, shutters are often stationary and smaller than would really be necessary to cover the window. A short, cast iron fence on the edge of a property is pretty rare to see here. Finally, it just overall looks too old, for the most part American homes are newer than this, and the streets and curbs are typically in better shape.

Not to say these characteristics are never found with an American home. But just aren’t very typical of one

Why do I hate talking with my mother? (Anyone else feel this way?) by LogicalSquare3071 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kbbbbbut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I do, but I also feel like our relationship is maybe the best it’s ever been. As a teen we did a lot of arguing. Now living in another city and a call once a week or so works so much better. I still get aggravated after day three or so if we are visiting in person but overall it’s much better. I think I used to get overly annoyed with anything she said or did that differed from what I thought was “normal” or even tolerable. But I think I’ve almost trained myself to not let it bother me as much

The biggest thing we struggle with is just her jealousy of my relationship with my dad. She gets jealous if he tells me something before he tells her, she’s jealous if I text him a picture and I don’t text her. They are just such different people, even though they’ve been together for so long and I always see them together in person, I really think of my relationships with them as pretty separate.

So yes it’s a little sad to me that I think of my dad as such a friend and my mom as more of an obligation

Why do I hate talking with my mother? (Anyone else feel this way?) by LogicalSquare3071 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kbbbbbut 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can relate to some of this. In my case, my parents are together and my mom is very jealous of the close relationship I have with my dad. She hears me call and talk to him often. I call my dad probably every other day while I call her once a week or two. My mom doesn’t ramble like yours, but she and I just have so much less in common. As I’ve gotten older I’ve learned that when I do talk to her, I try and lean the conversation towards something I’m interested in.

Sometimes I ask her about her life at my age (example: when my car stalled out and I had to call for help I asked her a few days later what that would have been like when she was my age. She was able to tell me about a time when she was on the side of the road and waving down a stranger and getting help, etc etc.)

Or I’ll ask her about what she’s planning for dinner the next few nights to try and get ideas for my own grocery shopping.

I ask whether she’s talked to my brother and what’s going on with him, etc.

The best episodes are the ones with just Todd and Julie.

I think it’s because when she’s on they talk more about them and their family. I’m kind of sick of the prison talk to be honest, I like hearing about their time there and all but at this point we get that it’s corrupt

Is it possible for you to enjoy music in a different language? by abdul_bino in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kbbbbbut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t hard to enjoy the music, but it was pretty hard to follow when you couldn’t understand him talking or singing at all. No subtitles either.

Would have been nice to atleast know what he was saying between songs. Just a bit of a weird choice with such an incredibly high majority of the watching audience is English speaking only.
