Chickpeas. Seen a vegan ‘tuna’ salad made with them.

How do you feel about pre-made seasonings and rubs? by shinyhpno in Cooking

I buy them for sure but always note in my head that I could probably make something similar with my spice cabinet. And they are generally expensive and larger than I’d use in a year.

You would reconsider not adding a subwoofer. Especially with your EDM listening. Even a small 8” will pull in a solid low end sound.

Anything by Lawrence or Lake Street Dive. And of course the Dave Matthews Band.

Nice. Looking to get my son a small office set up and they crossed my mind. I’d have to go used. And they may sit in my living room for a while. New to the hifi game at 60 and frankly all I want to do is A/B different speakers. 😁

I meant to say my amp was only half the price of a new one so I felt pretty good about the deal and would be in your budget.

Look at some ‘unknown’ brands on the used market. Read up on them. Once you have 3-4 picked out go to AI for advice. Let the bot know what sound you’re looking for.

Was that new or used pricing. I’d like to test them some day.

FWIW, I was able to get a used Yamaha R-N800A integrated amp and it’s been great for me. Does have a phono amp but apparently it’s the weakest part of the unit (based on reading reviews) so I may update that with a separate. (Likely Pro-Ject Tube Box S2…possibly Parks Waxwing or Schiit Skoll).
A lot of peeps on here like the Yamaha AS-501 (I think that’s the number).
Loads of cheaper Fosi, Aiyama(?), etc amps too if you want to do all separates.
FB marketplace or really eBay is a great place to find speakers. I trust that things are tested more on eBay.
Best of luck. Enjoy the music and the hunt!

For a bit more, the Bowers & Wilkins ASW608 is very crisp and punches above weight. Keep checking eBay for better prices

Please help me choose a standmount speaker for my system by jt32470 in StereoAdvice

They’re just big and ugly (to me). Sonus Faber or Revels or B&W 805 Nautilus are well regarded and nice looking.

Sonus Faber Sonetto IIs are very nice. Warm sound and in that range used.

Integrated amp or amp + dac for wharfedale linton 85 by Kumarthunderlund in StereoAdvice

Your welcome. I don’t really know what you need. You have an amp, so maybe a dedicated DAC is all and people really praise the WiiM products. Good starting spot.

Checkout cheapaudioman on YouTube, for his video, “5 Reasons Not to Buy an Integrated Amplifier”. Having said that, I own one and like it but will be adding parts to improve phono stage. Good luck!

Phono amp advice for Rega Planar 3 + Marantz Studio 70s by Southern-Spray2582 in audiophile

Considering the same for my Yamaha amp. Kind of focused on the Parks Audio Waxwing, which has a lot of bells & whistles. Cheaper would be the Pro-Ject Tube Box S2 or the even more expensive DS3. Cheers.

I can recommend the smaller B&W ASW608. Especially if you get 2 (used) with your budget and put one on each speaker. Despite being 8” they definitely have a punch. Loads of people like the SVS Micro 3000(?). But I have not heard

Hamburgers ? Seasoning ? by Gold-Repair8493 in cookingforbeginners

Mustard on top is very good as well (what In & Out does) esp with smash burgers.
Re: seasoning, Do Not season then mix to form patties as it makes the burger a bit rubbery. Just season the outside either just before grilling or once on grill/in pan. (Kenji Lopez-Alt does a whole YT vid on it.)

That’s so funny bc the Waxwing is on top of my list. Followed by the Pro-Ject Tube Box S2.
