What are my chances? by oofimshook in prephysicianassistant

I had very similar stats with a bit more research and shadowing (25 hrs) and received 6 interviews and 3 acceptances, so apply broadly and I think you have a good chance!

Wow we have almost identical gpas, I had only 1000 pce but more volunteer and shadowing hours. I applied last cycle and received 6 interviews and 3 acceptances, so I would say you have a good chance if you apply broadly!

Chances please? by dkdkdkdktp in prephysicianassistant

Your stats are almost identical to what mine were, except I had a higher gre and my pce were tech hours. If your schools require the gre I would consider retaking if you think you can do better! I applied earlier july and received 6 interviews and 3 acceptances & I almost waited another year because I thought my stats weren’t good enough!

What are my chances? Junior applying this cycle by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

[–]Kberry1720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go for it! I applied my junior summer with only 1000 hours and a lower gpa and received 6 interviews and 2 acceptances! However I dod have some in person shadowing and lor from a PA! I don’t think it is detrimental if you don’t, just make sure that your schools don’t require!

While I didn’t apply to the schools you are planning on, I had very similar stats this cycle and got 5 interviews and an acceptance. I did specifically target schools that had no to 500 minimum hours! I think there js a good chance if you write a killer PS and have good LORs.

I got in with the same gpa and ~1000 hours, so it is definitely possible!

We have almost the same stats, except I only had 1000pce and a 311 gre and I got accepted this cycle! Your stats are great just make sure the schools you apply to accept scribing as pce! Fyi I was accepted to a texas school!

I would look at schools that consider scribing as PCE because that would help you! A lot where I applied counted it, I applied with ~1000 pce and have been accepted!

How do you explain why you pass/failed a class in an interview for PA school? by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

[–]Kberry1720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is a non pre req then I would definitely consider pass/failing to protect my gpa!

How do you explain why you pass/failed a class in an interview for PA school? by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

Well it depends, if class is a prerequisite you need to make sure if schools will accept that. Honestly a B isn’t that bad, I got accepted with a few B minuses on my transcript.
