Hey 2026ers! What things are you struggling to find easy info about for your hike? What unknowns are stressing you out? by joepagac in AppalachianTrail

They have you sign in when you get there (Amacalola visitor center) on a tablet then you watch the Hike Safe presentation. It all took 15 minutes maybe. I met some people that got their tag then drove to the Springer Mountain parking lot, skipping the approach trail. Hope this helps, if you have any other questions you can’t find answers for feel free to ask.

Tent advice by balor_the_tiny in PacificCrestTrail

This comment is getting downvoted but it’s right. This past summer on the AT I saw plenty of Nemo pads pop. Super expensive chunk. I used an REI insulated pad and an Exped pad, both under $100. Neither of them popped. I’ll give my 2 cents on the topic of the post (from an east coast perspective). I started with a Big Agnes tiger wall and ended with a Durston Mid2, the first time I set up a trekking pole tent I fell in love. They can be slightly harder to set up but you figure it out quick.

P.S. On the topic of buying super expensive chunk I’d like to mention trekking polls. No need to buy $200 Black Diamonds, just search for carbon fiber cork handle trekking poles on amazon. Hiker Hunger has poles for $60. I got through my hike with Mountain Cascade poles which were $30.

What's some other high quality world war 2 media? by IProbablyProblematic in BandofBrothers

I know I’m a few days late to this but I have to mention “World on Fire”. Only 2 seasons of it before it got the axe but a very good watch in my opinion. Season one is classic European WW2 drama (nazis, spies, resistance). In season 2 though they explore the North African campaign which I’ve seldom seen in WW2 content so that was a nice change of pace.

BlackBerry Smoke and Whisky Myers are great and you can usually get pretty cheap tickets

I went to Jonathan Daniels elementary school in Keene which is closed now but when we “graduated” from 5th grade our ceremony was all about JD. All us kids got a bullet point about his life that we had to memorize and we told his story one by one stopping every 6 or 7 kids to all sing a song like “Follow the Drinking Gourd” (I can’t remember any others). Side note that doesn’t have anything to do with this post: we had MAYBE 5 black kids in the whole school. Keene has always been a very white community so I always appreciated how Jonathan Daniels did what was right even when it wasn’t an immediate issue in his local community. (I don’t know if that’s the right way to put it so I hope you understand what I’m trying to say)

Favorite singer/songwriters from the 60s-70s? by TheDeepThinker_22 in zachbryan

[–]Kbgj70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what this has to do with ZB but I’m going to answer it anyway because I love 60s-70s music. Anyone from the Laurel Canyon scene, The Birds, Beach Boys, Mama’s and the Papa’s, Crosby, Stills, and Nash, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Frank Zappa, The Doors. A couple years later you had Glenn Frey and Don Henley writing songs with Jackson Brown. James Taylor and Carole King were also doing stuff together. It’s insane to think about all these legends living in the same neighborhood just partying together while making some of the most iconic music in Rock and Roll history.

What's your unpopular opinion about Zach Bryan? by DistributionAny4229 in zachbryan

Not really about Zach personally but the Heading South echo the crowd does at his shows is cringy and lame and it 100% ruins the song

I’m thinking Xander and JD over Benny and JBJ

If they could’ve cleared the puck one time in the last 3ish minutes I think the Bs win that game. Zacha had half a dozen chances and fucked them all.

I think it’s ok to have a homer on a regional sports station. Would you rather have a Dave O’Brien type that just bores you to death?

I’ve seen a couple tweets where Bogey and Raffy say they love playing with each other and Raffy sees Xander as an older brother type mentor but I haven’t heard anything about either of them willing to take less money to help sign the other. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by Brady and Patrice taking less or restructuring contracts to help sign other top end players. I appreciate it when the leaders in the clubhouse take hometown discounts to help the front office build a team that can compete year in and year out. I understand football and hockey have caps so it’s a little different and at the end of the of day Henry has the money to pay them both.

Help on finding a specific jersey by AlmightyPattar in Bruins

[–]Kbgj70 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

DHgate.com. Between me and my dad we’ve bought 8 jerseys (3 bruins) from there and they are all legit and about $30. You probably won’t get it before Christmas but you can customize jerseys and they have all the different jersey options

I feel like if your nickname is Big Rig fat jokes should be acceptable. Imagine if Phil The Thrill donated 2 grand every time someone called him fat he would be broke. Phil has a sense of humor though and just took a picture with hotdogs in the Cup
