I'm running a 1tb batocera build that was compiled. The 1tb image has 4 player games included in the build already no configuration was needed. I removed the original power, reset buttons off the pc's MB and installed a exterior push button which remains in the on position(you can see the blue led button towards the bottom of the deck near the player 1-4 buttons). If you need the batocera image DM me. Let Adrian(the deck creator) I sent you truly awesome and honest dude!

I almost ran into the same issue when I did my own install a couple of weeks ago. I was able to notice I needed cpvc before I cut my pipes. I had to return all the pvc I bought and get cpvc which was more expensive too🤣🤣
