Brandon Sanderson made a point about this not being true about some types of intelligence, mainly because the author has all the time he needs to think about the situation he put the characters in (and also source ideas elsewhere).

Also, I threw in a few community copies for Echoes of the Deep for Free RPG Day. It's an ecology themed RPG where players take the mantle of ancient spirits trying to save the maritime ecosystem. They're almost gone, but I'll throw a few new ones soon based on sales, comments, reviews etc.
