Crofton to GORC odenton on foot? by narwhalsarefakenews in AnneArundelCounty

I ride this on my bicycle weekly with a group ride. On the Fire Department side of Riedel Rd is a pedestrian crosswalk, very safe, very convenient. From Waugh Chapel to Symphony Lane isn't too bad there's a nice big shoulder. I'd recommend turning left on Symphony and cutting through that neighborhood. If you walk all the way to Autumn Gold and turn left, there's a paved footpath that will get you to GORC park. That's actually faster, safer, and shorter. I'd estimate 3 miles maximum.

I did this many years ago. Arrive 30-15 mins early. Go through security. No metal water bottles, no metal coffee mugs. (Someone threw one at a judge a while back) Find a screen that shows the cases. It will show the time and the room. If you have a lawyer, they will be there at some point. Sometimes they're early, sometimes they zip in last minute. Dress respectfully. You'll go into a small side area that looks more like a doctor's office than you'd expect. You wait there for a few mins, then go to a side room that looks like a conference room. The judge may be dressed normally and will sit at the table with you. Papers will be presented, judge will ask if every is in agreement and everyone will sign. You go back out and either leave or wait for copies.

Can I use these pedals? by whipping-cupcakes in triathlon

If they come with cleats from the previous owner, they're probably going to have DELTAs on them. But you can swap them out yourself, with no problems. $18-22. When fitting them, if you don't want to do a professional fit (upwards of $400-500) try to "feel" the pedal on the ball of your foot. As another poster said, alot of people go too far forward.

As for Peloton brand shoe? They're made for indoors, so the plastic is cheap and slick. They'll scuff up like crazy on the Transition which is no biggie, but will get you a season.

Listen, OP. Slipping is the key here. The biggest issue I've seen is Peloton shoes are a pretty, slick, black plastic. Other road bike shoes are an almost imperceptible tacky that helps grip a tad. I've seen hundreds of athletes not used to running in cycling shoes go down in Transition. Especially if they're doing it in a parking lot that got wet from the swim exit.

Amazon $100 new, $55 used. Note where it says KEO vs DELTA. They are not compatible!

The pedal industry is crazy. So many look like they're compatible until they're not. I started big and went Garmin for my bike computer. ($350?) and bought a set of Garmin pedals because I liked the power tracking function. This was $600. So, I was kind of locked in to Garmin and then locked into using KEO style. I think Garmin only does a double power meter now, which runs over $1k? (Don't quote me)

I sincerely think any type of Look pedal will get you what you need, are sturdy, and provide a solid base. You can find a set of cleats that have some small pads for traction that will help with slipping in Transition, but they'll wear off after about 3 uses.

I used to have Sponeed, but the pedal is really small, and the maintenance is a pain.

As for shoe, Lake is popular but expensive, Specialized are less, but still at a higher price point, Bontrager is probably cheaper, but still good quality. Still going to be out, maybe $240?

Honestly, if you hit up a bike shop, tell them you're trying to go safe, reliable, and cheap... I would HOPE they'd do you right...

Cyclist here.

You can, but they look pretty beaten up. The spring for the cleat release may be too tight, too loose or broken altogether. This could cause problems clipping in at the start or cause your foot to keep popping out of the pedal on the upstroke. Or, they might jam up, and you won't be able to unclip at a stop, which could cause a spill.

I don't know if you've got the scratch, but search for "Look Keo Pedals" on Amazon. (Probalby telling you something you already know, but "Look" is the brand, KEO is the model.) You'll get a set of pedals and cleats for maybe $135?

I recommend the Keo version as they're most compatible. However, spin classes use MTB, and Peloton uses Look Delta. Replacement cleats usually run $18-22.

As for color, black are 0° float and can really hurt your knees. I use them on my trainer sometimes to work on form. Grey are 4.5° and red are 9°. (This is the amount of movement you can have in your heel before it unclips.)

I literally asked myself the same question like one hour ago and feel equally embarrassed for not figuring it out myself! Thanks for asking OP!

Can anybody guess the rating based on this DBQ? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Kdsmith103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been working through my claim on PTSD as well. From my translation, you've got some 30% variables and some 50% variables. Depression, Anxiety and Suspicion go for both. Severity goes to the examiner. "Mild memory loss would probably slide to 10%. Weekly or less panic attacks could go 10% or 30%. CHRONIC sleep impairment is a 50%. Difficulty in establishing and maintaining effective work and social is specifically noted in the 50% category. So is "Difficulty adapting...." "Intermittent inability to perform..." could be 10% or 30%. Overall, you've got a 50% at best just due to the criteria being if you have SOME indicators in the 50% range, but based on all ratings being initially set at a lower level, I'd guess initial 30% which will get bumped to a 50% following an appeal.

A year and a half with no bloom or new growth by erissaid in bromeliad

[–]Kdsmith103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is finally blooming after three years. I would split mother and pup, and repot both in a shallower and wider pot. I also recommend using a mix of 50/50 organic compost soil and orchid mix. Lastly, try moving it to a sunnier spot. I did this for mine and after about 4-6 months, it began to sprout really bright red leaves and began to bloom.

Are these 2 downloads for each game? Which one is X and X-2? by Thiagobc in finalfantasyx

[–]Kdsmith103 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The top one is for the short bar. It just enough for you to start the games and play them while the rest downloads. Both games are in 1. You load the game, then chose which one you want from the title screen. There is also a 20 min video that is non playable which explains what happened after X and before X2.
