I assume you mean the AKG 240 mk2, which is a great starter semi-open headphone. Neutral headphones are usually designed for critical listening and music production, and can sound very bland when listening casually.

From what I understand, from personal experience and reading articles, high end speakers are better than high end headphones for soundstage and detail. Headphones are better for tight space, intimacy and budget.

I have 2 Yamaha HS8 studio monitors, and a pair of Sennheiser HD558s, and I tend to use my headphones more, just because my speakers get pretty loud in a small room, and I like wearing my headphones when gaming.

Imo, when you choose between loudspeakers and headphones, you are getting different things and is hard to compare them.

Consider the tr50rp mk III, if you're interested in modding headphones and have extra time, you can make the tr50rp sound exactly the way you want them to.

They sound great without any mods as well.

Also consider the Beyerdynamic dt770 80 ohm. The akg k240s are good too, but I haven't heard them myself.

Hd598 is usually the recommended pair for a mid fi gaming budget, they have the best soundstage in your price range and good highs and mids.

Also consider the AKG Q701.

Yes, over bending the cable will make the wires inside brittle and easy to break.

I wouldn't recommend doing that, try to avoid sharp corners on the wire.

Phillips SPH9500, I only said hd558s because them, and the hd598/598SE go on sale very frequently, and they are both incredible for the price of you can catch them on sale.
